UE4 has been dropped so devs have no choice but go for UE5. The only people still using UE4 are doing so for legacy reasons (D3D11)
>>737515552Support ended for UE4 in '22, Epic still lets you download it. It's entirely the devs' choice.
>>737516003Support end means you have to fix engine bugs yourself not Epic. Epic left the engine in a broken state on purpose unless you rollback to an even older version that's missing a lot of shit or designed for mobile. The only studio with time and money to burn on debugging UE4 is Sony.
>>737515407UE is a great engine that only requires an hour or two disabling features you don't need for your game. If a UE game runs like shit it's the developers' fault for not doing the necessary customizations. If they were maintaining their own engine it would most likely run even worse as evidenced by the fact they can't even tweak some UE settings.
>>737515407irrelevant, these games are made with the mindset that they are playable on phones.
>>737516302Epic is incompetent as fuck, you can't expect them to fix anything to begin with. 4.27 remains more stable than any version of 5.
