I'm looking for games that have interesting stories that will engage me. AND the emphasis is on interesting. A story can be well written without being interesting at all. So I am not looking for something that just has competently written dialogue or an emotional story. I want a game that has an interesting PLOT (ie the events that actually happen in the story), plot twists, or interesting settings / worldbuilding. Or alternatively, a strong sense of mystery Examples i would give are>Nier automata (interesting setting, nice plot twists, good sense of mystery, non human protagonists)>SMT devil survivor (because it has elements from biblical mythology)>Expedition 33 (the first 2 acts had a nice sense of mystery and there were plot twists)>Persona 5 (because it has a unique urban fantasy setting)>Control (SCP like setting)>Mass effect series to an extent because i thought the main villains were interesting>Hundred line last defense academy (because it had a decent sense of mystery)>bioshock (Interesting setting plus nice plot twist at the end)>FSN

Manage an SCP-like facility to supply power to a megacorporate nightmare of a city.

The games are widely revered for their eloquent dialogue and equally stellar voice performances, it feels theatrical in the best ways possible, and they put Amy Hennig's name on the map for the sheer talent she has as a writer. Soul Reaver 1 + 2, and Defiance have gotten recent HD releases that are serviceable enough on all the current storefronts, and are played in that order. If you liked those, playing the first release in the series, Blood Omen, is certainly worth your time too. Blood Omen 2 isn't very good, and wholly skippable.

It doesn't lean as far into the romance aspect as something as E33 or SMT, but it does have the Pale and the voices (Shivers being the personification of the city IIRC). The novel mostly shines through the main character's relationship drama and the political aspect.
