No one has ever really understood elves.In LOTR and the Hobbit they're something pretty special and magical. They were kind and wise.For some strange reason all modern forms of storys seem to be obsessed with deconstructing everybody and making everyone overly flawed in a contrived way. Someone cannot be, like the elves in the LOTR, both strong and wise. Only the wicked can be strong and the kind are weak. "on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength" is pretty much unthinkable. This is an evil reflection of how we see each other and other people today.Anyway, every elf archtype is now "they're a bit of a snooty cunt." or they're openly xenophobic or something. There's no "magic" to them. no one gets them. They dont tell stories or help things grow or preserve anything.
