PSO Remake would literally print money, I legit do not understand why Sega doesn't do it. They would make so much money off of that game. Imagine they announce it during a Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2. And it would be on PC/PS5/Xbox of course. But man, one can dream. Monster Hunter Wilds is doing poorly right now to so the chance is there for Sega to capitalize on that.

Also, your example of Mania being a hands-off outsource is actually a bad one compared to their other outsources. Sonic Team and bazooka were actually constantly suggesting and mandating the team do certain things to the game. You could very well argue it was to the game's detriment rather than the opposite, but the point is they weren't hands off compared to their other outsources. In the cases of stuff like the Panzer Dragoon and HotD demakes, Alex Kidd demake, SoR4, the new Shinobi, etc, they literally just handed over the licenses while literally zero SEGA devs communicated with the outsource developers throughout the entire development process. Well, that's technically but not entirely true in the most pragmatic sense. Yuzo Koshiro, while not a SEGA employee at this point, did at least offer 2 or maybe 3 tracks for SoR4. I can't remember the exact count. Think he may have also played the game pre-release and gave feedback, I can't remember for sure.
