Sure, there's strips where it's just Watterson doing the boomer-tier, "old man yells at cloud" bit, and you can disagree about his stance on merchandising, but there's still some really good, thought provoking stuff in there that's actually relevant to this day. Along with being just plain funny. Even if it's dated by kids' standards today, I think there's plenty of stuff to unironically make them think a little. And yeah, expand their vocabulary too. It might be whatever to you now as an adult, but for many kids, it's probably eye opening. Not to mention the artwork is top tier. I think it's a great comic, and that it deserves its reputation, overall, even if it might be a little overrated by some.Feel free to cherry pick a strip to make what I said look silly, I guess, though.
