It was actually pretty great but it just happened to release during your angsty teenage phase where everything felt samey and boring to you.
People criticize the adventure game elements introduced in THUG but it was the best thing they've done in the series
If THUG and/or THUG 2 had THAW's gameplay, then they would be the best in the series. THAW sans gameplay is very mediocre. Also reTHAWED is tranny shit so don't bring it up.

They're both going for different things (TH is meant to be more arcadey) but pulling off tricks felt so satisfying in the Skate series and the feeling of momentum as you pick up speed is addicting.

>>737578318I never bothered finishing the story and played arcade mode instead. I remember loving the apocalyptic level, it was neat. Still it's probably my least favorite game in the series:THUG2 > THUG > THPS 3 > THPS 4 > THPS 2 > THAW > THPS (this one gives me vertigo).
