A game like this shouldn't rely on basic noise gemeration for its terrain.

How is brutal compared to TTW difficulty ? I'm going to start a second playthrough soon and I want to take a bazillon screenshots, but wilder difficulty would make that troublesome during boss fights

But that's what I intend to do. Just on wilder I assuming I'd eat a nasty hit if not a one shot upon exiting. But I guess I can just do many photo session fights before I fight for real. Also unrelated to difficulty, the time of the day is going to be important too. I did the majority of the fights during night time, screenshots were quite dark. The only order I refuse to do during day time is the F8 one, night makes it so much better

I'm having a lot of fun just walking around and I think carriers play a big role in that (I don't recall that I ever used them the first game). I like that I don't have to choose between tediously walking everywhere with a tower on your back or only doing 1 order at a time.
I want to do a second playthrough offline with no roads or vehicles, but there are way too many games I want to play this year.

>>
>>737588925
You don't get the rocket launchers until mid-late story and for the lightweight one you need to 4 star the phantom smith which is a pain because there's almost no order for him at that point. But yes they annihilate everything. I was mostly thinking of the boss fights but surely if I go in with the expectation of dying over and over for cool shots the autistic deep seated anger won't surface :^)

Is it just me or do vehicles degrade WAY faster in DS2? I parked my sparkly new pickup in a safe spot, took out a brigand base and when I got back to it, the thing was rusted all the way to hell with 21% durability left. Nothing touched the thing except for snow.
>>
>>737592440
May be a wilder thing. Battery depletes faster than in other difficulties so durability is probably the same. What bothers me is how fast Sam's suit gets enshittened and gray looking. I like doing a ton of deliveries without resting in a private room. Barely 30 seconds in the rain with a sparkling clean suit and it already looks like it's been used for eons.
>>
>>737592672
does changing your suit in a terminal reset it? I wish you could reload ammo without having to rest. I guess I could just recycle and make a new gun, but that feels so wasteful (plus I like my red guns).
>>
>>737592832
It doesn't. It's honestly baffling that they didn't add a refill ammo option at terminals, just print ammo with some metals and ceramics. You'd think this is a thing they'd improve upon after the first game where it worked the same way. I'm guessing they were thinking "just print new ones bro"
>plus I like my red guns
Based redCHAD. I have a stockpile of them and repair them at the metallic spring when they get damaged.

I just finished 2 the other day and the more I think about it the less I liked it. All the side characters are great but they don't really have stories like the first game's did. The actual story itself is kinda dumb, but I will admit parts of it are absolute kino like Higgs burning Sam, the reveal that he was hallucinating Lou the whole time or basically anything with Neil. Also I don't like the visual style or the actual world design as much. Everything felt too easy to traverse except the big mountain and even it wasn't as interesting as the original. The combat and arsenal of tools is a definite upgrade though. I wish there were more random elements that could occur like the avalanches and sand/snowstorms, hell any of the sections with the asteroids setting stuff on fire were great. They could've done with more unique preppers like the Animal Sanctuary or even the Vtuber. Most of them lack any interesting personality which was admittedly a problem with the first game too. At least there they were more recognisable like Sam Lake or even Geoff 'The Joe Slayer' Keighley.
Overall I'd still give it like a 7.5 but it's not as solid as the original.
>>
>>737593050
That's one of two garbage oversights in the game. The only way to refill ammo is by sleeping in a private room and there's no damn compass on the HUD. We've got flying robots, flying tar subs, a means of printing structures, teleportation, laser tractor beams, all kinds of insane technology but somehow no compass on the HUD.

Going back to the first one and your suits battery dying all the time was a shock, i had to carry a PCC all the time for the most part
you get so much battery in DS2
>>
>>737594561
Ive had a couple when not in a mission but they are extremely rare
One just rushed me and I was like welp im dead
>>
>>737594967
One of my fondest memories in DS1 was delivering something from the Doctor to the Mountaineer, going up that big hill after the BT area. Batteries are fully dead, the cold is draining my stamina, and then I crest the hill and there's someone else's generator playing Pop Virus to help me out. I mashed the shit out of the like button. It was those little magical moments that made the "strand" gameplay so unique for me.
>>
I wish we could unlock the PCC level 3 earlier

>>737594967
The only times I ever ran out of battery in 1 was when I was using armor pads along with the speed skeleton to clear out camps. If my memory serves me right the stabilizers also use a lot of battery. I enjoy the overcharge thing 2 has going, it's great, I'll definitely miss it when I play 1 again

So the only way you're ever going to realistically repair all the roads is if you use that ceramics mine in the middle of the map, load it all into the Magellan and fast travel around the map repairing all the autopavers, right?
>>
>>737607572
Nope. Take the kill pill. Murder them all and the camps will be empty for a long while.

It's actually easier to get stars at facilities on TTW difficulty. Only things that are really harder is bosses can one-shot you, and stamina and battery management matter more. It's been really fun for me.
>>
>>737611674
Yes. If there's a distribution center or a knot not far you can load up a truck with the corpses and incinerate them all at once. If you don't mind getting some likes docked then you can just leave the bodies right where they died, NPCs will take care of it.

OP's hip checking the slope all the way from East Observatory to Aeornautical and that's funny because it's the worst way to to do it but also the wrong mindset to have for mountain deliveries in general. Instead he needs to hop unto the ridge just up to his left, out of frame in this picture, and traverse by running along the ridge, setting up a chain of ladders or expensive chiral bridges to smooth out the ridge run. I hope OP at least cuts through the peak and doesn't hip check all the way around to Sky Nigga.
I admit i traversed that way too on my first playthrough but still OP is a dumb retarded stupid asshole fuck him.
>>
>>737596612
Neat trick with that is one can go online to load up lots of player structures then turn it off to keep the ones he want without new ones popping up.
The not neat thing is he's now the sole source of maintenance for too many structures.
>>

>>737593367
I think both games are some of the best I've ever played. I think 2 is both darker in themes and what happens, but at the same time also lighter and way more "Kojima unhinged". The tone of the first game is a lot more consistent. It does have some Kojima'isms and fun stuff, but not nearly to as unhinged or as many as 2 has. 1 is a very solemn game, but with a very strong sense of hope throughout even when it gets dark. 2 is more personal to Sam. It just hits some different themes in the story about coping with loss etc.
They're both great games for different reasons. I don't think one is better than the other, although some of the gameplay aspects in 2 have definitely been made better. And the graphics make 1 look dated even though it still looks good too.

Death Stranding 2 looked like how I imagined games would look in the future, and it ran insanely smooth with everything maxed out on my not top of the line pc.
I was amazed at how fast the game loaded too. From when you click "play" in Steam and you're actually moving around in the game takes almost no time.

Yeah. If you really want to you could also raid knots for their stuff and take XL, L, M and S. Then offload everything, put all four on your back and auto sort it into a big XL. Then select all your big pippin XLs and dump them in the truck. If you're going to the mine, just take a ton of L, M and S with you to combine those with the XL you get from the mine.

I find it very annoying how you get bonus audio out of the ps5 controller when using it over other controllers, but there is no way to get this audio normally without it. Disabling the controller audio feature just removes that fucking audio entirely. Its fucking evil I can only hear sam's footstep sounds properly via a ps5 controller speaker. What the fuck kojima.
