Lunatic Kingdom was the last touhou game I really played. Exhaustion overtook my life after that and I kind of stopped following touhu. Kind of fitting seeing as Reisen was my favorite and got me into the series

I'm experiencing the series for the first time and I must say, coming from 6, th7 is kind of exhausting. I can really feel the new emphasis on longer boss battles. And okay, sure, it's a good time to add a free shield if you're going to do that. But now the stage 1 and 2 bosses take as long as the stage 4 boss in the previous game. It feels less like an arcade game and more like a boss gauntlet. Kind of like what happened to Dark souls in a way.
