There's a few conflicts that need to be accounted for (i.e putting Object Pull on another button like Y) but it's mostly a smooth switch. I have no idea why the devs chose to make it that way, especially when having it on L2 makes it actually easier to use in combat.Obviously it makes the Bow and its skills almost unuseable but grapple's mobility is too good to pass up. The bow is hardly essential.Dpad up and Dpad down can be safely remapped to Palm Strike and Focus Mode with a little finesse, also. For two face buttons they are horribly underutilised. Those functions can be easily cast off to another button combo. Focus Mode is so insanely important for so many bosses, the idea of having it on double stick press is genuinely deranged.

The plot starts with your tribe being attacked and losing your ancestral homeland, and then you are magically resurrected because yOu 'R dA cHoSiN wUn. Of course, once you get back control, you're tasked with everything under the sky that has fuckall urgency. Go chase butterflies (there are hundreds of varieties), pick flowers, whatever. Ride your wagon halfway across the map with the most worthless drunk in the game because fuck you. It's the perfect time killer, but at the end of the day you feel no accomplishment. You can explore and fill in the map, solve puzzles for trinkets that give incremental boosts to your character, but at no point in my 80 hours of the game have I said "wow this is awesome". You'll notice I only have 2 achievements so far, and that's because of the sheer bloat of go-fer tasks. It looks nice though.
