You can swap between Real-Time with Pause and Turn-Based combat whenever you want to better deal with each combat encounter, and there's a slider/toggle for each individual difficulty option so you can customize how easy/hard you want it to be even mid-playthrough.If you find anything about the WotR story premise interesting I'd recommend it over other CRPGs for your first game for those reasons even though it isn't my favorite. It does have a shit ton of character building options though so you will probably feel overwhelmed when you first try to create a character. You can always just pick whatever sounds the most interesting and stick to that class the whole way through and be fine so long as you aren't on too high a difficulty level.

Without getting too off topic, I've been playing the Early Access release of Solasta 2, and the character creator has gone from being a bunch of (admittedly quite jank-looking) premade heads with the option to select hair on top of them (think Morrowind) to a Body Type A/B creator where faces aren't sex-specific, colours and sliders are imprecise, and everyone looks kind of ugly and andorgynous. And of course there's a vitiligo slider.
