I'd felt like the combat in prime 4 was solid. I especially enjoyed how quickly you could morphball and get back up. I would place bombs then use psychic energy to whip em at people or bomb + charge ball + unmorph in the air to change up combat against the like 4 enemies in the game.


I think one of the high points of the game people dont mention is when you return to the lava factory place after it blows. I liked seeing alien fauna doing its own independent thing. Give me more areas like the outside sections of the frozen lab too.

I want to see an alien race who built all their structures into the environment if you wanna keep chasing the BOTW open world dragon.

Actual open world. Metroid is begging for a huge 3D non-linear game. Several progression orders through the game, and zero loading screens. Also should have call backs and easter eggs referencing every game in the franchise, so it's like a celebration of the series.

It definitely should take cues from Doom 2016 and Eternal. I want snappy movement and combat, melee moves that can be chained and combo'd, a space jump that can be used four times before touching the ground, a grapple beam that is used in combat, I want shinesparking platforming in 3D, I want mission structures, I want squad mechanics, I want them to go all out and make Metroid fast again.

That's the general outline of what I'd want. I have my own ideas for possible beams, upgrades, areas, and story beats, but really I just want something that doesn't look out of place next to the original trilogy. Prime 4 felt like an uncanny lookalike that's trying too hard to evoke the feelings of Prime 1 and failing in the process.

If we're gonna do open world, make it so that there is an open world area consisting of several different biomes with their own enemies and the main stages located in them. So you go north and it transitions to a tundra biome with a snow and ice stage, southwest to a desert biome with a Chozo Ruins-like stage, east to a swamp biome with a Torvus Bog-style stage, etc. And make each stage as large as the largest area in the original Prime Trilogy, with returning to the stages for new power-ups and expansions. And in the open world area we can collect resources that allow us to upgrade the power-ups. Get the Gravity Suit from the swamp biome and collect the excretions of poisonous creatures and gravimetric devices that let you move faster underwater, give you the Gravity Boost from Echoes, and make you immune to acidic water and poison attacks. For the regular Bomb, some unstable geode cores and magnetic ore can increase their damage and radius, allow you to launch Bombs in a direction, and they are attracted to metal surfaces, enemies, and Bomb Slots which allows you to solve Bomb puzzles from a distance. Samus's ship can be where you build the upgrades along with saving and restoring energy and ammo.

Different things both natural and artificial that correspond to the system you want to upgrade. Each one has three levels of upgrade, each taking different and rarer materials, many you'd need to blast or carve from rocks and ores, and others you collect from defeated enemies. One or more of the systems you find can aid in the collecting process.

The scans can be changed so that they let you fight the enemy more efficiently. All enemies have a basic scan with basic information, many of them have a more thorough scan that details their weak points and vulnerabilities, and some have an in-depth scan that gives you access to the materials you can get from them. These would require upgrading the Scan Visor. That is not an open world. Open world is a low tree-depth level select, it does not have these interconnections, because it is an interactive form of picking missions from a list. Linear open world games like Shadow of the Colossus also exist, so being non-linear doesn't make it open world. This is just a decent Metroidvania.

Open worlds have maximum interconnections. It's not meant to be some bloated level select, retard. That's a low brow "criticism" that comes from morons who can't into open world games. A signature trait of an open world game is that the world has character, that locations are pivotal and meant to be reexperienced in varied context. Guess what Metroid is all about. Metroid is one of the most fitting game series for an open world debut, because all it needs to make the dream work is more non-linearity, and to eliminate loading screens. When someone cannot envision it, it outs them as a giga retard. I mean, collectibles dotted around the game world like a checklist? what're we doing here, dancing around the overlapping venn diagram here. Just fucking do it, Shia Labeouf, in the woods at night with a steak knife, Shia Labeouf.
