>>737601657Man, I'm the other way around. I love robot/cyborg limbs as long as they do something. If it's just a normal looking limb with normal capabilities ala Star Wars then it's dumb. One that looks like a robot limb is better, doubly so if it's for style or status like a gold arm or decorated somehow. The best is if it does something a normal hand couldn't, either being extra strong or having it transform into tools or weapons. I fucking love that stuff.Growing up, one of my mom's high school friends only had one arm. She came to visit the first time when I was like 6. My parents sat me down before she showed up and said "Okay, she has a fake arm. Don't make it weird, don't stare, don't ask her about it." So when she showed up and did her meet and greet I lean around the corner and say "DO YOU HAVE A COOL ROBOT ARM?!" And she just pulled it off and handed it to me. She got mad at my parents when they tried to chase me off. I asked her to crush an empty beer can and she pinched the rim so it bent in half. I thought it was the coolest thing. Years later for my birthday I got a big box in the mail. It was her old arm. She got a new one and decided to give me the old one and included a sweet letter saying "You never felt sorry for me and that was the kindest anyone has treated me. Stay curious." In so many words. I still have it, i made it grab a nail that I hammered into the wall and use it as a coat hanger. It was the coolest gift I ever got. Ever since I met her I thought prosthetics were just the coolest fucking thing.Thanks for reading!
