Yeah it's padded with a lot of filler like an MMO, but it's still a complete game where you pay once and get the whole experience. In an era of always-online, live service, microtransaction filled, never ending, games that gate actual content behind paying more money and feed you tiny piecemeal story updates every few months. Something like this actually feels like a step in the right direction.
>>737606874>defending AI slopgamers never learn man
>>737606885>AI slopAI *will* be used for environmental assets.Get used to it.It's only going to improve.
>>737606913I have more than enough good games to play without wasting time on something that wasn't even made by a human. If AI in games becomes widespread I simply shall not buy or even play those games, and will play one of the hundreds of real games I still have yet to play. I will never run out of games to play, so I do not have to "get used to" shit. You will never be able to force me to use or care about AI no matter how "inevitable" you claim it is. I will still not use it and you will not see a single dollar from me.
>>737606874I'm interested enough that I might play this some day, but I still don't really know how the combat works, and it's not like they have a demo that can show it off.
>>737607247Yeah, it's bizarre they didn't bother with a demo. I figure I'll wait for it to go on sale, which these days most games end up being 50% off a year later so it probably won't take long.
>>737606874That's fine, not everyone plays open world slop, the sloppiest SSS (triple slop) genre
>>737607247When you do play it, use nothing but your body. Weapon combat is way worse than CQC.
I've been playing the whole time with m+kb and the fight controls just aren't clicking. Is it better on controller? I feel like all I can do is roll spam and food spam, the controls are too jank to do anything else
>>737608634never tried it on keyboard but it's not that complicated
>>737608634With gamepad you hold RB or RT with your right index and middle finger while your other fingers press other buttons for wombo combo. It's as easy as it can get.
this the comfy thread?

Anyone else get a weid 60fps lock bug when changing graphics settings?
>>737609601Who the fuck is this and why should I care
>>737609781it has to do with the map menu I thinkthe uhh.. some reshade plugin fixed it for me I think, it was setting menus to 30fps I think? then back to the fps I set it to for gameplay. funny because I don't think the mod was meant to do that but it werkdbefore that I would just alt tab real quick and it would fix it

>>737606874They've been updating the game weekly, that's what's more amazing - I thought the game was almost perfect, but they made it even better ... how do you even manage to comprehend such a vast world, nevermind min-max it? Them Asians are better workers than the entire Western gamedev scene ... I'm just waiting for the real seethe when 'Tides of Annihilation' goes live - the hate around CD & Pragmata is nothing ;dd
>>737610670>>737610850He's complaining about all the pragmata and dd2 threads
Sank you for playing
>>737611118Aren't those Japanese games though?
>>737611018While it's refreshing to see a responsive dev, I'm worried they're giving in to the requests too much. "change this, change that, pls nerf I can't beat the first 2 guys after Kliff is revived".Also, that oldfag needs to eat, sleep and shower and stop playing games:https://youtu.be/hMeDMlGVwPg
>>737611018I've played so many western games where people point out a massive bug and they don't actually get around to fixing it till a month or two later, or worse "sorry but the upcoming patch is already locked in, you'll have to wait till the patch after."CD makes me realize this whole time they've just been making excuses and can fix shit immediately if they feel like it. They just don't cause they're lazy.
Have you solved the ancient mystical Red Light Green Light puzzle?
>>737611582>counters "the combat has many mechanics but little depth" with a clip of him using the same attack over and over again and easily beating the enemies
>AI assets>overworked devs crunching even after release>the great shame of korean industry>unfinished game on release>denuvo >no demo>only appeals to MMO addicts and MMO-lite wastrelsSad!
>>737612421As opposed to W+M1 of Skyrim, or dodge roll+attack of souls? That video might not be the best example of combat variety, but there's hundreds more that showcase all combos for each weapon archetype, don't be a retard and look it up instead of me spoonfeeding every fact to you
>>737611341They are, but he's not too savvy on the fine details
>>737613204Wait, why are there even DD2 threads right now? I thought that came out years ago
I got this game for free with my cpu and couldn't make it past 40 mins.
>Main character is named Kliff>Some of his friends include Shane, Andrew, Duane(pronounced 'Dwayne'), Luke, Ross, Carl, Ronnie, etcWhy are all the Greymanes named like college frat boys
>>737613234There are rumours of a dlc coming out, unconfirmed by capcom themselves but people speculate based on some new 2nd anniversary art posted. My bet is they saw how much time players were spending on crimson desert, realised they already had a game that could compete and are rushing to cobble something together while the open world exploration hype is still stirred up. Whether dd2 is better than cd is a personal preference, but those who aren't too poor to just buy and play both are winning.
>>737613375>tfw we will never get a game in which a couple of college fratboys get teleported into a shitty, soulless korean fantasy world and now have to find a way to defeat the great evil that has awoken
>>737613309Same here with the cpu, tho I'm loving it. Wasn't hyped for it, saw almost none of the marketing stuff prior to release; the trailer I did see made me think it's some anime-style slop, yet I was immediately pulled in and logged 180 hours in 4 weeks, that's with a full time job and gf. It was like playing Morrowind for the first time way back when, I was just happy to explore and when I discovered the combat could be as simple or complex as I wanted it to be, I couldn't stop playing. Finished the mq now and can't find anything else to fill that void. The devs are releasing patches constantly based on player input, imo they're trying to please the crowd too much but if you wait a while until they've stopped meddling with it, play it then. The game is slow to start, once you get past the first 3 or 4 chapters you can just fuck off exploring for a while
It’s an objectively terrible game. It feels worse than FFXV.
Dropping it after 10 hours, not worth my time.
>>737606874>never ending, gamesThat's one of the reasons why open world singleplayer games are better than oldschool singleplayer games. You can fool yourself into believing your experience will be different enough with open world but for the rest, it's like watching the same movie over and over again without anything changing, because most games aren't sandbox type games. That's why liveservice games were successful, it is an ongoing experience with little to no repetition story wise. The game world is progressing and evolving with the story and you don't feel like you're playing a video game and instead are part of an actual world with characters that are independent of you, even if your presence is required for the story to progress.CD is good because no playthroughs will offer the exact same experience, so in a way it's closer to a live service game than really oldschool singleplayer games which were basically tunnels through which you progressed. That's why BotW was celebrated so much 10 years ago, an open world game offers a different experience every time with it's limited but vast open world.
im pretty bored of Hernand now, what direction should i go to explore new stuff and don't get my ass kicked by enemies? im already 40h into the game and got some decent equipment
>>737617718Huh? There were plenty of old games that had a shitload of depth and replayability, Gothic 2 off the top of my head. Generally speaking it's a more recent phenomenon that games have become the "same movie over and over again" type of experience because the cost of game development is getting higher and higher and they don't have the money or resources to make them as complex as they used to. So you end up with a really straightforward, limited "tunnel-like" as you described it, game. That's why CD is so good, because somehow they managed to make a new game with the scope of those old games.
>>737610147Yeah that bug, do you mean renodx?
>>737606874>Something like this actually feels like a step in the right direction.Find me even a single game with controls worse than this, you can't. You'd have to start going through early 90s PC titles when we had no idea what we were doing

>>737606874>i-i-it's a finished game>needs 10 patches to be playable
>>737622718Depends what you mean by playable. Even at launch there were no gamebreaking bugs preventing you from finishing the game.

Finally bought it.I wish there was more combat/harder combat/more enemies. Even on hard mode I just kind of hold a button or mash widly and win. Even the fight against Mathias was absurdly easy. A single retreating slash with my spear took like 40% of his hp
I played it less than 2 hours and realized I was playing slop befpre refunding it. Complete, my ass.

>>737617982Literally anywhere if you don't suck ass.Spam turning slash for invulnerability.
>>737624831Regular enemies are for filler & power fantasy. The "hard" bosses are just spammy & gimmicky.
AI is unironically good. People call it "slop" because they have bad taste and are trying to compensate for it by virtue-signalling what they think is good taste by complaining about AI, which they've designated as producing low quality end product. The truth is that AI customer support is superior to 90% of customer support employees. AI asset generation is superior to 90% of artists. AI generated dialogue is superior to 90% of writers. AI workflows is more efficient compared to the SOP implemented by 90% of middle managers. The speed of AI logic is superior to 90% of game designers.I can't wait until AI is fully and completely implemented into games like Bannerlord, for example. It'll become an overwhelmingly superior game if AI dictates faction logic, war logic, diplomacy logic, relationship logic, battle tactics, the economy, etc. Rather than some government-sponsored B-tier Turkish company trying to make it work with duct tape and 12 hours of grinding work every day.
