Is Bazzite finally viable for nvidiachads?
>>737607865Just stick with Windows, dumbass.
Wait for the official SteamOS release.
>>737607865No. Nvidia's drivers are the problems. If you want Linux, get an AMD GPU next time.
why would you use bazzite instead of fedora though?
>trannyziteOSI'll stick to CachyOS
>>737607865I'd say no. If you have an Nvidia card and must use linux, go for CachyOS. You absolutely need the latest drivers and can't wait around for Bazzide to pull their thumb out of their anus.If you must use a fedora distro because Arch is too scary, just use straight Fedora. You can't fuck it up unless you try to.If you have AMD then go for it.
>>737610404I use Bazzite, redpill me on CachyOS.
>>737612145It's Arch but easy. The gaming improvements are whatever. They help but don't make up for bad hardware.
>>737612145It's basically the gaming friendly version of arch. It's good for most people looking into getting linux, but I can't use it, or any arch distros cause they don't work well on my system.
>>737610404>>737612228I kind of regret switching from Arch to Cachy desu. It just feels off to me, probably because I got so used to how my system was, or maybe just because I lost my "I use arch btw" badge.
I've heard people say that CachyOS involves a lot more maintenance (and more use of the terminal). Can someone elaborate on what exactly CachyOS requires that Bazzite does not?
>>737610404CrashyOS is fine.Honestly the best out of the box experience I had with Linux so far.I went through many different distros over 15 years, but the gayming experience used to be awful. So I didn't stick with Linux for long, but now you can daily Penguin and get mostly better than Windows experience.
I know someone who uses EndeavourOS, how is that one?
>>737616420I use it, it's just arch with an installer and a few additions.
>>737607865bazzesque
>>737607865niggas fr named they OS Bazzite :skull:
is there someone you are forgetting?
>>737615945Cachy gives you power, Bazzite locks you from it. It's really hard, but not impossible to break Bazzite. In Cachy if you go fucking around in the terminal, you can break it, since it's essentially just Arch. But with Cachy everything out of the box is fine, and you shouldn't need to go into the terminal much, but it's not never. It has Arch-Updater already installed for example so you just click the button and it updates everything for you.
>>737616420>>737616493Yup, same as Cachy basically, but cachy has a custom kernel which is better for gayming, though there's nothing stopping you from switching to the cachy kernel on Endevour or straight Arch.
>>737608585>>737616987>>737617939The memes are significantly more popular than the game ever was and that's hillarious. >>737618123Sorry, I'm not autistic. I'm sure it's fine though.
Gentoo best distro
Forget Bazz, take the cachypill
>Forget Bazz
Bazzite and Fedora are Israeli/mossad controlled.Ask yourself why Bazzite is immutable. Because they don't want you removing their backdoors.Only safe ones right now are Mint/Ubuntu (pending Canonical infiltration) and Arch distributions.
how long until CachyOS fades into irrelevance like every "gaming distros" before it and people move on to the next flavor of the month distro?
>>737618403It's the best distro if you want to learn how the OS is built and shit works.I would not consider LFS to be a distro. Highly recommended for everyone to install Gentoo at least once.
>>737619829A while. But you can just turn it back into normal Arch by swapping the kernel if/when it fails so it's not a big deal. If Bazz stops getting maintained you pretty much have to reinstall something else.
>>737619882Gentoo is the new Arch
>>737619829Once something better comes out and gets popular. There are limited number of people willing to do work for free, and maintaining this shit takes a lot of work.
>>737607865I have Nvidia and I play games on Mint. It's fine.
I have an Nvidia gpu and I just installed Mint Cinnamon yesterday. Did I fuck up?
>>737620076No. If you like Win7 cinnamon is fine, Mint is fine. It's easy, it's just behind some of the latest updates.
