Good PC games to play with a racing wheel? I tried Forza 4 and I don't know if it's just because I suck shit but it was uncontrollable, cars would slide out when trying to make even a slight turn. Been playing Dirt Rally 2 and that's good but I'd prefer something more open or track based.

you might have to adjust a few settings (i.e. linearity and deadzones) to dial in the sensitivity and of course make sure turning radius is set correctly.

RWD sports cars are notoriously shit to drive in FH4 especially off-track
Try a rally car or pretty much any AWD car

Assetto Corsa Rally. Not the greatest FFB and softlock is kinda janky but damn, does it feel right to drive.

I tried paying with settings for a while but nothing felt good. Playing with a controller was fine so it just seemed like something was wrong, but I don't want to play without the wheel.

It was the first rally event that made me uninstall the game, it was sliding around more than anything else in the game up to then.
