Why are Sonic games always so rushed? Can't they just scale back their scope?

devs are retarded and *actually* try to make sonic fast, so, distance over time, sonic maps are fucking disgustingly huge, like, 30 seconds of a modern boost-shit sonic stage is one skyrim maps worth of running.

He devolved from being a triple A series to double A or even B series. All of the talent also left during the Sammy hostile take-over. At least Sammy had the good grace to buy all of Sega instead of salvaging it in parts. Sonic will never be as good as he used to be. His series ended with Adventure 2.

>>737619594You're definitely correct about bad management, but rushing development obviously still plays a factor towards the end whenever they DO get their shit together long enough to make a fucking game, since they inevitably have limited time to get anything done by that point.Sega's management is so laughably bad that even if you gave Sonic to competent developers they'd still find a way to fuck things up for them. The only way to save Sonic is to have him get away from Sega entirely, but that's never happening, and the movies have already proven that they don't even need to make games anymore to make money with the IP. Slowly but surely, the games will be little more than an afterthought for whatever ongoing movies or shows are currently happening. (And fans at that time will tell you this is a good thing.)
