I'm legitimately asking for games that allow me to play a white-robed priest/cleric girl that smashes foes with hammers and holy magic.
That are NOT Dark Souls or an MMO

OP won't even play the games he just wanted to post his faggot pic here and couldn't come up with a better post

Dragons Dogma 1 got the Mystic Knight, only class that can uses maces, is a caster, got a big shield with a lot of mechanics, buffs
Neverwinter Nights, or any other fantasy crpg
I know you said no mmos, and I'm not sure if it is still going, but Rift Cleric class was great, probably one of my favourites, even if I haven't played it in 15ish years
Trials of Mana, Chawotte

It's a good archtype, anon. Good taste

Why are you making the same thread I made months ago?

And yeah, I just played Dark Souls again.

I've seen many bots repost my old threads from the archive too, it's crazy

rift is still going but don't expect a healthy playerbase, game is enjoyable enough solo
>>
WHM/NIN in FFXI

No I don't give a shit that you said no MMOs, the game is practically a single player game for the first 300+ hours now on retail.

crusader in diablo
>>
>>737615838
I thought that game was impossible solo, do they just give you npcs to play with now or something?
>>
>>737615956
Yeah they have a system called Trusts where you get summonable party members which are just NPCs from the game. So you can do the entire story solo if you wanted to
>>
>>737616034
That sounds neat, can you just pick whichever NPCs you want to bring at any time? Might give it a try
>>
>>737615102
Cute cleric girls that can also fuck shit up are my favorite archetype, good taste anon

If you don't mind jrpgs the Bravely series, specifically Bravely Second, had a bunch of jobs involving white magic, holy magic, and holy arts. You can also deck out your characters in pretty much any weapon and subclass you want for more customization.
>>
>>737615102
Shining Soul 2.
No shield but you can choose if you want to smack enemies with a mace, big flail or BIG book or turn into a halo of light and walk into them.
Or be the multiplayer healbuffs slut.

Might an Magic 6 and 7 if you're fine with the fact that you'll start with 3 other characters that you'll need to drown for a true solo play.

How is the steam port? It looks rough.
>>

I kinda liked WOTR, until act 3 raped my ass because my builds weren't super optimized and I lost interest, but until then it was fun.
Also finding cool character portraits online is a pain.
>>
>>737616598
You get items that unlock them as you play. So you start with none and slowly build out a list but as you progress you'll get more and it builds out a list of them. There's also some you get from the rotational monthly events etc
>>
>>737615102
As always, modded Skyrim.
Other than that, you could pick your posion in terms of CRPGs. Pathfinder series (specifically Wrath of the Righteous), Baldurs Gate (either), etc.
If you dislike MMOs because of the multiplayer aspect by chance, you could host your own server for World of Warcraft with CMangos or SPP (v2, runs on shitty outdates laptops too if you can handle about 5 minutes of messing around in a config file) and populate it with bots that follows your commands (hell, some bots even play better than people and you can use an alt character as a companion bot).

It's all so tiresome
>>

what do you want to talk about, anon? im here and im not a bot i am a human being
>>
>>737615524
I also want to know please. Outside of BG3 I can't actually think of a modern game where I can just be a paladin and go around doing nice things. WotR I guess but I hear its weak
>>
>>737622090
Paladin is extremely strong in WotR. And clerics are even stronger, and crusader cleric is the strongest of them all.
>>
>>737622324
There you go then. I did the first dungeon (as a paladin) and then didn't like it because I heard you have to follow builds but then it wasn't fun because they weren't my characters really.

both owlcat games
trials of mana original and remake as >>737615556
said. you can also get a hammer in children of mana, though no shield. i cant remember if the female character gets a white robe version or not.
alliance alive lets you start the game as one but the robe is not white.

>Outside of BG3 I can't actually think of a modern game where I can just be a paladin and go around doing nice things
I dunno what counts as "modern" to you, but Pillars of Eternity has great Paladins and Clerics. Some of their abilities become stronger the more you roleplay according to your order or chosen god.
>>
>>737622675
Oof. I was actually looking at deadfire. On a pretty hefty sale atm and it sounds pretty good. Do you have to have played the first one?
>>
>>737622728
I played only the first one, currently a Bleak Walker paladin. Which is more like a dead knight. It has been great fun roleplaying this cruel bastard.
For OP, something like a Priestess of Eothas or Berath would work. They get a bonus for maces or flails/mornings stars respectively.
>>
>>737615102
Why are clerics associated with maces? My weapon of choice is always going to be a sword.
>>
>>737623256
It's from early Dungeons and Dragons where in the lore clerics were forbidden from "spilling blood", so they all promptly loopholed this in-setting by using warhammers instead. In game mechanics it is because swords are slightly better (until you factor in enchantments, etc.) so this makes sure fighters get slightly better melee equipment.

Bump
>>
>character class with tons of holy damage
>literally only good against undead
>hardly any undead in the game
ugh. UGH
>>
>>737624536
early mmos got it right with class/build specific leveling zones spread all over
but i can see why that isn't justifiable with modern game budgets
only a small percentage of buyers play a game more than once, so they'd miss out on a huge chunk of the game

Ragnarok Battle Offline
>>
>>737623256
Usually Clerics aren't associated with being combat experts so they use a mace or staff which are easier to just swing around to do damage than a sword which needs some level of expertise to use well.
Also popular culture that holy men aren't allowed to spill blood so they use blunt weapons instead (ignore the fact that blunt weapons can also draw blood).
>>
>>737623256
>>737623434
It is funny to think about the fact that clerics used maces to avoid spilling blood when I'd think getting bludgeoned to death would be a far more painful and gruesome way to go than just being stabbed.
>>
>>737623256
IIRC there was some old painting of a battlefield in which a king was using a mace, a historian made some shit up and claimed that it was because he didn't want to shed blood as he was a holy man (killing people with blunt instruments will draw blood)
This claim then influenced D&D
Nowadays I believe Lathander has the mace as his favored weapon to uphold the cleric tradition

Outside of that, maces can be more merciful as you can beat someone's ass and spare them afterwards, something that's much harder with the often lethal injuries inflicted by edged or pointed weapons

Lastly a cleric with a sword blurs the lines between cleric and paladin

It's been years since I played old DnD but if my memory serves it is more like Jewish cleanliness laws than Christian mercy.
