if you're not being mined for personal data you're being psychologically manipulated into addictive practices
and yes, of course there'll be huge numbers of cases where 'it doesn't work on me i'll never pay'. but the fact of the matter is that you're still shoving your brain into that mental manipulation grinder and having to constantly push back against what they're trying to make you do.
