I don't want to properly learn systems and minutae , I don't want to "get good" to the point of exploiting and trivializing things. I want to form stories where failure is a possibility. What I do isn't quite roleplaying, because I'm not self inserting as the general/political leader. Its more like simultaneously being a DM and a player in an rpg. Most campaigns don't really work out, but a small minority I remember in surprising detail forever. Its largely independent of the actual history or lore being represented, with explanations and richer lore for major events being imagined on the fly.

Not pictured because 99% was off steam but I have 1000s of hours in various stalker mods, most of those being in the Joint Pak series. Pic related is achievement that takes 500 or 600 hours to get. I'm playing again from scratch because an expansion came out.
