Which retvrn felt more nostalgic
>>737636913Guns of the Kino hands down
Returning to shadow moses was truly a kino experince
>>737636913How the fuck can Requiem's RPD feel ""nostalgic"" when it's the one from the 2019 remake, not the 1998 original?
>>737636913https://youtu.be/qgWrKRu-ry4?si=PGOhFgzQ__q-DyoK
>>737637342Nostalgia cannot be felt in 7 years?
If Shadow Moses had actual guards, SM by a landslide. Except its so fucking bland interacting with those tiny robots. So they are about even. SM has more callbacks, but just plays poorly.
>>737637442In a game that's meant to evoque nostalgia over a 28yo event? Not really, no. If you pull the "oooooo Leon's so old and busted, he's been through so much!!!! look Sherry's back too, and Alyssa from Oubtreak!!!!!!" card but then have the modern version of the RPD that's not even a decade old, it falls utterly flat. Like MGS4 featuring Twin Snakes' soundtrack over MGS1's.
Raccoon City not being nuked is such an unbelievably retarded idea that anything built upon it cannot be kino.
>>737637352They'll probably just cut it for the Master Collection. There's also that part where you play the helicopter pad area in emulation where it just has to load in and out.
>>737636913The disembodied voices and drebin points really took me out of the shadow moses sequence
>>737637501But that’s the whole thematic point, Shadow Moses dying (just like Snake) where the only stuff remaining is non-life
>>737636913The only good part about the RPD reunion is seeing the pallet jack is exactly where you left it in the library. Then you walk through three rooms, not Wesker gives you an exposition dump, MR. X chases you for a bit, and then you kill Mr. X in an empty parking lot.
>>737636913Shadow Moses. While the return to RPD was cool. Having the RE2make just a few years earlier made it feel less nostalgic and more of a quick call back
>>737638334Zeno carefully removing the L in the party banner so it distinctly says "We Come Leon" and leaving a little handwritten note to personalize it
>>737637442RE3R is only 6 years old and it features that police station too. And RE2R was already a nostalgic return, and so was the original RE3. How many times am I supposed to feel nostalgic about the same exact place
>>737637501Why would there be guards still at shadow moses? Are you retarded?
Shadow Moses was brutal. The whole of MGS4 is brutal in the uncompromising way it portrayed Snake's total degradation. I really hope a bunch of e whores play MGS4 in August expecting daddy power fantasy like RE9 and end up traumatized by what happens to Snake.
>>737639054>stillIts because Outer Heaven is parked nearby and they bothered having a ton of robots running around.
>>737637342>>737638752It's meant to be nostalgic to the new fans. You know, the ones who maybe played a bit of the 4 Remake and watched someone else play through 2 Remake on Youtube.
>>737639993>it's nostalgic to people who never experienced it in the first placeI'm not even going to have that conversation, play it out in your head
>>737637501The robots are there because they have sightlines like the MGS1 guards
>>737640267>never experienced it in the first placeThat's wrong, watching someone play the game is the same as playing it.
>>737637342>return to remake RPD: 7 year gap>return to Shadow Moses: 10 year gapTo zoomers and alphas, this moment in Requiem felt about just as nostalgic as the Shadow Moses section in MGS4 did for millennials
>>737636913Returning to the Ishimura in Dead Space 2.
Shadow Moses ends with you piloting Rex, so that one wins.
>>737640681That one was pure comedy>riding a space train>oh hey that's the ishimura>sure don't wanna go in there again *wink wink*>space train malfunctions>only way to jury rig the tether is by going inside the ishimura again
Any other nostalgic return moments in vidya?
>>737640992Issac being so fed up with the nonsense was funny. He could not catch a break that game.
>>737636913Why is Snake standing like that?
>Haunting RPD theme remix starts playingHmm yes very kino Capcom, very saudadeExcept this motif wasn't in the fucking remake RPDFucking niggers
>>737640645Time passing felt different back then due to the graphical evolution. If you squint or play Requiem on a weaker rig, it basically looks exactly the same as every previous REmake starting with 2.
>>737636913I actuallly think more positively about the Shadow Moses section in MGS4, after playing RE9: Reheated Nachos.
>>737641507My favorite thing about the MGS4 flashbacks is that they didn't update them to match the modern visuals. You see them reminiscing about something and the you see Snake's pixelated ass face.
NeitherAlthough to me the MGS4 one seemed more pedantic, it was throwing flashbacks on you every 5 fucking minutes like "remember MGS1? MGS1 was so great. God I wish we were playing MGS1 right now" all the fucking time.
>>737636913Isaac returning to the Ishimura
>>737642518It's weird that despite using the original PS1 graphics, they used voice acting from The Twin Snakes.
>>737636913It was only 10 years between the release of MGS1 and MGS4, but it was 2 generations, when each generation was a significant leap over the previous one.RE9 doesn't look much different from RE2make
>>737640683not only that but you do metal gear CQC against RAYthe fact that you never got to pilot a metal gear again is a crime
I wouldn't know. I don't play shitty nostalgiabait cashgrabs, old or new.
