>>737639170It's still worth playing, there isn't any real FOMO so it's just gotten bigger and better over the years. Main problem is that there's been a ton of warbonds (battle passes) added since launch and it's daunting for new players to get going without paypigging. Unless you're on PC, in which case you can ask around on /vg/ for someone to host a cheat lobby for unlimited premium currency.

>>737639170700 hrs. it's insanely grindy. like to play with all the content you'd easily need like 300 hrs. devs hate the playerbase and constantly balance it to make it fair for the non playable enemies. it's drg if ghost ship had a barely concealed bug fetish and every other day you logged in to your favorite weapon or playstyle being nerfed into the ground. there's some fun in it somewhere but it's hard to find under the unpatched day one bugs in a two year old game (conveniently only the bugs that make the enemies stronger stay in, player bugs are patched within a week) yes i'm mad

>>737639170You can probably get like 70 hours of fun out of it anything after that feels repetitive. I'd say it's worth it, especially if you get it on sale.
>>737639170The core mission loop and blasting tons of enemies makes it extremely fun despite the devs best efforts. If you are starting out there will be a lot of variety of things to fight with 3 factions and subfactions. The grind will be insane for the warbond weapons and content even if you shell out for the paid currency. It's much worse than overclock grind. Do not expect a team game. DRG is a miracle of good design decisions fostering natural teamwork. This is the opposite. Teamplay is a great force multiplier, but the game actively discourages it. Your typical rando quickplay squad is basically what would happen if your DRG squad are all scouts equipped with fat boys and C4 on cooldowns.

>>737639170If you are going to get it I highly recommend coming to the helldivers general on /vg/ for lobbies.Pubbies don't stick together that often which hurts the new player experience and teamplay.I will warn you that the game is very unstable. It might not crash that often for you but for some people it crashes frequently.
