Do you try to help your friends develop better taste in games? I try but it's really tiring...>group of 30-year-old boomer friends start whining there are no good games and everything is shit>me: "Maybe try X?">nah>me: "How about Y?">nah>me: "Okay, what about Z?">nah>they go back to Hearthstone Battlegrounds and Dota 2, the only two games they touch every day after workEvery once in a while they'll catch me playing a REAL game and pick it up themselves, but only when it's already huge (Elden Ring, PoE, MonHun, Lies of P, Khazan, RimWorld). 99% of the time they ignore my recommendations, buy some survival craft early access slop or pirate garbage off IGG or FitGirl's front page, and drop it within an hour.
every time I recommend a game to my friend they play it for 20 minutes and then go back to playing Valorant all day
>>737645586I've found out that most people won't try games you recommend them in general, whether it's a stranger or friend. Which is silly because I've found some games I really like by listening to some recommendations since I try to make the effort to try stuff if I'm going to ask others to try stuff. I don't think I'd of checked out Look Outside, Felvidek, or Outer Wilds without recs so I'm glad I got them. Ah well. Still trying to find someone based enough to go through Revival Xanadu after I recommend it to them.
