The Mario movie aren't movies, they're an hour of cutscenes. So instead of wasting so much time and money on these movies, why not just give the games better cutscenes?

They're advertisements to get non gamers interested in their properties

They're fun, so I went to see them in theater and had fun.
What's the problem?
>>
Because its made by Illumination. Nintendo makes the games. Two different companies working in two different mediums.

Would you have Paramount make the cutscenes for the next Sonic?

What makes a movie not hours of cutscenes?

Having an actual plot for one

- The movie is all pre-rendered, they're not limited to the in-game assets of the game.
- Mario is cartoony game light on story, suddenly having tons of cutscenes would be a bizarre choice.
- Movies are for watching, games are for playing.
- Other companies are collaborating with Nintendo to make the movie, it's not Nintendo's own developers. So it's not a waste of time and money, it's free profit for Nintendo.
- Making a bunch of cutscenes for a Mario game is not cost efficient, they're better off focusing on the gameplay and presentation. Something people actually look for in a Mario game.
What a dumb question.

Nintendo wants ps5 audiences

Because not everyone is a gamer. Are you fucking stupid? It's Mario for non-Gamers, but Gamers can go enjoy it too if they want.
