One of the criticisms I've seen of E33 is its supposed forced tragedy, melodrama and "please cry now" moments. Well, I was in theatre today (Horatio by Pierre Corneille) and I've seen the same elements used, but even more extreme. Avoidable tragedy, coincidences, impassioned speeches, screaming, openly shedding tears; and yet, it was a great, cathartic experience.Why do /v/ermin insist on viewing everything through their cold, cynical eye? Why, when faced with a sincere attempt at eliciting emotion instead of doing the usual song and dance of quips and "well, that just happened", do they reject it instead of celebrating it? You may not like the specifics of how they did it, you may find it cheap, you may dislike the story's direction, but you should celebrate the return of sincerity in storytelling and expressing emotion; the death of marvelshit.
A story that heavily about death should have sad moments.
