>>737660965I found most of my successes either finding a vast open area with 500m of clear view in all directions - on the starting (?) map there was a spot with wind turbines that was good for this - or just running through the forest then quickscoping whatever runs away. If it bleeds for longer than 50m then it's not worth pursuing, unless you're autistic and want to roleplay the good ethical hunter. Then again I dropped the game after 30h so maybe you should take it more seriously if you want to have funMy advice is to pirate DLC and play on the Siberia map, I liked that one even if the quests there were a bitch
>>737660965cotw is a much easier game than you think once you know how the AI works. you can basically trip over deer if you are always walking against the wind. learn where the heart is, it's lower than you think, if you want to actually drop them quickly. double lung shots will still have them running off like a bastard. also work on using your binocs more. animals render up to like 800m so if you are on a hilltop looking down into a clearing, you are almost guaranteed to be able to see *something*

You can kinda traipse around and find feeding/water zones for all sorts. There are stands that are practically turkey genocide zones for money making. I found when hunting bigger animals you should always take the biggest round that's considered ethical. The drilling rifle ends up being worth it's weight in gold for this.You can instakill animals by hitting their spine in the neck, useful for deer after some experience.
