I'm curious about the references to Orlando Furioso in this game. I've read Orlando Furioso and played the game but played it a couple of years ago so I remember the main characters having the same name but can't recall details. What other parts come from Orlando Furioso?

Orlando Furioso looks like a retarded name given to a brazillian serial killer.

Why is the artstyle so hideous?

Everything from Moon Studio looks hideous and is overrated.

It's Italian

It's Korean

Nothing, just some names and very broad strokes character backgrounds like a man named argalia with a sister named angelica

The general theme of revenge and losing one's self over the loss of a loved one. Like the other guy said, it's really more of an outline structure around which the game's story takes place so a lot of the finer details are very different. Orlando wasn't fighting the chinese fire army, afterall

The series as a whole has a lot literary references. Not one to one but general themes for characters at least.
