Help me understand... how do people see these as up to par with the other games? Especially Investigations 2 being cited as "the best in the series" is something I only barely understand. Its truly interwoven plot does rival Trials & Tribulations and the Great Ace Attorney Duology, and now that it has a real localization the writing is not "bad" exactly, but... the writing really isn't that great in any of these 4 games. Instead of the series author, they're written by a team of writers under a director, like the Uchikoshi/Danganronpa games are, and they end up feeling kinda similar, except it has to be in that Ace Attorney PG-13 vibe. I feel especially that the humor in the other games is done between me and the author, like I'm being spoken to, but the humor in these games is more anime-typical where the characters say things that are meant to be funny, but it's too constant, and they keep doing it even when it's time to pause it. Giving Edgeworth his own Maya Fey really wears out its welcome. The entirety of the Yatagarasu 5th case was just... atrocious but it seems many love it because it's complex? And same goes for most of the sequel. >Omg it's just so intelligentExcept now the crimes are SO advanced, relative to how silly the motives behind them are, that everything feels arbitrary.>Oh my god the Winner guy is just so adorbsHe was cringe. Why are the characters in these games cringe now? I hated some in the OT, but now they are cringe. These games don't feel... smart.
