Treasure stories really are kind of like the Doom Bible, it's neat to establish context but when the game is 99% blowing shit up with no diologue or narrative then it's kind of a fruitless effort.

It was a retarded idea from the start to try to tell a story this convoluted and ambitious in this type of game and with nothing but a opening text-scroll, but the fact that they stubbornly went through with it anyway gives this game so much more texture.Arcade-like indies almost never match this level of earnestness in their narratives. They often just parody this kind of stuff and make it intentionally stupid. They totally miss the spirit of old games in that regard.

The directional inputs are pretty intuitive for what they do with each button.
