Honest thoughts ?
>>
industry plant
nice graphics
cool robots
wasted premise
>>
Honestly? Loved it. Fuck the haters.
I have no idea what they're doing with the next games, and I don't think they know what they're doing either.
I still hope nonsense like Hunters Gathering ends up being fun somehow, even if I'd rather they just make Horizon 3.

Played it a week before BOTW came out.
Never played it again.
>>
a decent enough one playthrough game but bogged down by the need to gather material and craft ammo
>>
its fun and it doesnt matter that its le snoy
>>
It feels like something that could have blown up way more if some mechanics were handled better, and the MC was just player created.
>>
You do ubisoft busywork slop that means nothing while seeing hologram flashbacks of a much, much more interesting story. Overall bland and okay but a massive forced meme industry plant by sony.
>>
long live sun queen Aloy.

A good concept poorly executed. Suffers from everything people hate about modern games. You could hand it off to any Korean developer and they could make something equally shallow, but leagues more stylish.
>>
>>737663289
I'd say it stands out above most of Ubisoft's offerings from the same era, though that isn't saying much.
>>737663436
Good news then. One of the two next follow up games is being made by Korean studio NCSoft.
>>
>>737662728
It was kind of interesting uncovering the history of the world and how the apocalypse unfolded in the first game and the basic concept of robot dinosaurs was cool but literally everything else was boring and bloated
>>
>>737662728
The first game I bought for my ps4 and one of the most boring games I've ever played
>>
W*men protag. NPCs all suck except for mystery nigger, who also sucks. Robodinos both cool and retarded at the same time. Roll slop mechanic.
Overall if youre desperate for a game, it's playable. That's about it. The sequel is allegedly better gameplay wise but I refuse to buy it.
>>
i unironically love everything about them but aloy, shes just kinda boring, i like the parts where silens tells her to stfu lol
>>
>>737662728
I can't say enough good things about it and Forbidden West. I highly recommend it and can't wait for the third mainline game!

I actually quite enjoyed the first one. The environments are pretty and nice to explore, and I never got tired of fighting random mecha-godzillas. The only characters that really shine are Sylens, the long dead Zero Dawn crew, and Aloy getting a flash of character development right at the end, but I think the slow build-up to the world's actual backstory and final reveals were genuinely impactful.

Second game felt like a chore to finish. New animations for exploration feel strangely sluggish and they go all in on focusing on the tribal conflicts after the mystery of the world has already been solved, and none of it is half as interesting as the backstory of Zero Dawn. Characters I was actually interested in like Sylens and Beta feel completely sidelined for a tacked on character arc where Aloy learns to allow herself to work with people, but she doesn't actually work with them outside of a few character quests and two story missions. It kind of feels like it's trying to emulate Mass Effect 2, except you can't actually choose to take your team anywhere. The new antagonists are potentially interesting at first, but it feels like any depth they might have had is dropped pretty quickly for the sake of kicking them aside for the threat of a different cliffhanger.

Like? I loved every bit of it.

Best open world on ps4

Look, I don’t say this lightly, but if you aren’t running Horizon Zero Dawn™ Remastered and Horizon Forbidden West™ on your PlayStation®5™ yet, you are honestly just missing out on peak gaming. I’m talking about crisp, jaw-dropping 4K™ detail that makes every single machine encounter look like a cinematic masterpiece. The performance is so smooth it actually feels like the game is showing off on purpose. Do your eyes a favor and treat them to this level of fidelity because honestly, nothing else is coming close right now. It is genuinely the best way to experience Aloy’s journey, and yeah, I’m obsessed with how good it looks.

>alloy trying to push a women good, men bad narrative with the carja king while his patriarchal society is living in advanced civilized cities and alloy's matriarchal tribe is a bunch of savage hut dwellers

Why'd you make this thread again

Its just Tomb Raider reboot with robots

Why do you hate PlayStation?

Cool enemies, generic lore twist, boring story, forgettable characters, bland world
>>
>>737662728
The first game is kino and they ruined it on the 2nd game, just like every big playstation hit
>>
>>737665152
Maybe, just maybe, that wasn't the narrative it was trying to push after all?

Dialogue is fucking trash and majority of the characters are fucking gay and lame.
I agree with >>737664594
Sylens is the only interesting character in the series and always had something interesting to say.
Hunting robodinosaurs was always fun and a joy.
>>
>>737662728
Never played the second but the first game was good, though was almost entirely hard carried by its world building and to a lesser extent the flashy combat. Most of the characters were whatever and the main story plot was serviceable, but the way you learned the history about how the world got fucked up was done extremely well and there absolutely should be a spinoff game about the last months/years of humanity. It'd be way more interesting than any sequel game could be.

It's a triple A open-world collectathon at its best and worst. You have moments where the combat clicks, and others where it's a damage-spongey grind. You have moments of cool lore like the sci-fi history of the world and insane zealots being weaponize by AI posing as their god, and then you have a bunch of other tribes that are just kind of there.

>there absolutely should be a spinoff game about the last months/years of humanity.
A robo-apocalypse isn't a new idea for a game, but it is funny just how much more emotionally charged some of the random audio recordings and logbooks you find are compared to what the actual tribes you interact with are up to.

There was a random data entry in the first game's Frozen Wilds DLC about two kids who started a silly band together but fully knew they'd never see each other again after the last call came to evacuate survivors from the city, and it made me tear up like a bitch. Whereas I I barely remember most of the actual tribal characters you're doing sidequests for in the main game.

I actually don't recall that being an issue. The new Carja king was a genuinely cool guy who killed his genocidal father, while the Norah don't even get a redemption arc. Just Aloy denouncing them because they let delusion and superstition justify the idea of banishing and mistreating people they don't understand, even children.

>make it 20 feet
>some oiled up mulatto pops out of the bushes
>"my husband is under attack nearby"
>can literally see this dude's husband "under attack like 10 feet away
>defeat 5 robo raptors
>"thank you so much for your help I wouldn't know what to do without you thank you again
>sure whatever
>make it 20 feet again
>an oiled up oriental pops out of the bushes
>"please save gay homosexual partner, he's under attack..."

yeah, no. I'm done with this.
plus the entire plastic bits of trash aesthetic is really fucking lame.

Good game. Beat it. Got the God armor that made you basically invincible. Id recommend a guide and do that first because you cant miss them. Didn't play any others.

I dont understand this game at all. Great plot, would have made an amazing book, great show. The actual game though was painfully mid as fuck yet it still sold 40m and was the #1 game. Even with the console pairing it makes zero sence to me. I dont get it?

an okay mindless exploration slop game
reeks of forced popularity
Not that different from your usual ubislop
alloy is an industry plant
