Being able to swap between the characters at will like Revelations 2 if you're playing singleplayer. Besides that, more interesting map design, NO INVINCIBLE STALKER CHARACTER SHIT, RE5 is about black hawk down hordes of zombies and using chokepoints/good aim to thin the horde.I don't want parries. I don't want zombies that tank 5 headshots before being staggered. I want 10 different melee finishers for each character. Chris should be punching through zulu heads and sheva should be doing cartwheel kicks into zulu babies.

Add in a shit ton of new badass melee/environmental finishers instead of adding useless puzzles or fucking gunpowder. Don't let it take itself too seriously or slow the pace down with backtracking. The villains are complete cartoon characters and not brooding or boring. The scenario is just a spin on RE4 and people will actually take the game more seriously if you go all out on what they've learned from RE9 and make it over-the-top gory and action oriented with very little interruptionI'm really not going to care all that much about story changes because RE5 was pretty damn thin in that regard, but at the same time there is a certain level of authenticity that used to exist in these games that we simply don't get anymore and a remake will butcher all of that. Jill and Sheva will be completely toned down, Chris will be made less cool, Wesker will be more boring, Ndipiya will be censored/cut, etc etc.
a lot of the content is just kind of forgettable or outright bad in the case of the turret section and cover shooting zombies. the opening village section is ok and then there's a bunch of boring industrial environments, and indiana jones tier ancient ruins until you arive at the wesker show which is very backloaded. I have no idea how you make that stuff compelling without reworking it completely.
