Steam top sellers list represents ranked revenue over the previous 24 hours. All MTX and DLC purchases are attributed to their parent title. The fact that people still can't comprehend this is fucking insane

>>737668203That's the entire point. The steam top sellers is all about revenue. It's basically just a snapshot of whatever is spending the most money on a game at any given hour. If a couple thousand people decide to preorder a 60-80 dollar game, it will also make the list and even hit top 1, which is why you sometimes see games that everyone called a flop like Marathon or Veilguard make the list.
I have 300 friends and none of them own any of these games besides marvel rivals and bf6. Do Publishers pay Steam to put their games on top?
