It's a MOBA.

what's funny about this picture is the creator not being able to conceptualize the possibility of guided munitions in a future setting despite the tech existing since the '90s

How many times do I have to show you this image?

What are some RTS games with mentally ill factions?

Luckily somebody made this image to prove that OP is mentally retarded.

anon, if it's a physical barrier, bunker busters exist, as do tandem warheads
if it's an energy shield, you're basically just resorting to magic at that point, putting up a "Nuh-uh!" barrier that has nothing to do with what the original was focused in in the first place

Siege tanks are never, not once, shown to be an indirect fire weapon. They are huge cannons, not mortars or even howitzers.
>>
>>737671578
Why are we forcing engines do things they werent designed for? This shit is what make unreal be out into everything.

Dude at least read the fucking manual that comes with the game. OP is retarded but please don't pretend siege tanks weren't doing artillery duty too.
>>

>120mm Mjolnir shock/artillery cannon

Even the fucking model of the siege tank has its gun pointed up in the air like artillery when in siege mode
>>
>>737676049
The cannon is not remotely angled high enough to operate in the manner OP's picture suggests lmao.
>>737675940
Cannon, not howitzer. Pay attention you smoothbrain.
>>
>>737676146
A howitzer is a type of cannon you dumb retard.

Nigger its a fucking video game, I'd tell you to go play something like ARMA if you want things to be completelyrealistic, but even they don't completely adhere to realism because at the end of the day it's a video game and not everything needs to be 1:1 with real life.
>>
>>737678328
>Nigger its a fucking video game
Video games are supposed to be virtual versions of tabletop games (which were just called 'games' back in the day)
Part of tabletop rules would be dictating that a unit cannot hit because the angle of projectile would not allow for it, which in turn should be represented in the video game itself.
Failing to do so is a failure to immerse the audience in the game, which makes for a less interesting game and less detailed combat.
>>
>>737678431
Name 5 table top war games where the miniature for your artillery piece has full articulation for the gun on its artillery piece.

retarded middle aged man posting i see
>>
>>737671862
How does that image explain why a projectile can't change direction in midair.
>>
>>737678519
Any real wargaming should have limitations (even if needed to be homebrewed) for targetting behind walls and such.
And the point of video games is to enable complexities which would be impractical for a tabletop ruleset.
Doing a Fallout 1-2 battle on paper would take fucking ages and generally suck ass. Meanwhile in the game it happens in a couple minutes tops.

God, you are so fucking stupid. And I suspect that you're not pretending too.
I guess chess is a bad game because the bishop can't attack a figure that's right in front of it.
>>
>>737678797
Chess is not trying to be a relatively modern video game depicting sci-fi weapons of war.
>>
>>737678601
Name 5 table top war games where you artillery gun has full articulation mother fucker.

If you can't then you concede that we already suspend disbelief for the sake of gameplay for the tabletop. If we can suspend disbelief for a static table top model then we can do the same for a virtual model with only horizontal articulation because the IDEA of it being an artillery piece is more important than it having a complete 1:1 virtual representation of the real life article.
>>
This guy is going to kill himself if he ever finds out that we have guided artillery rounds that can change their trajectory mid flight in real life
>>
>>737679068
Starcraft doesn't have those.
>>
>>737679097
Yes it does.
>>
>>737671862
The fuck does this even explain?
>>
>>737679116
Honestly given the sci-fi setting of star craft the on screen representation of the siege tank would be fairly realistic.

The materials needed to create guided munitions would be so abundant for a space fairing civilization that they'd effectively just become your standard ammunition for artillery and given the prevalence of AI amongst the human factions in the setting it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that these munitions would also be self guiding.

Meaning that all the siege tank would need to do is fire a bunch of rounds in the general direction of the enemy and allow their self guiding artillery rounds to seek and destroy any enemies in the area.
>>
>>737671862
Ironic that you complain about non-accurate ballistics simulation in games when you don't even understand it yourself.
