Two monitors are essential. Alt tabbing is literally for homosexual faggots. If you don't have a secondary monitor for watching a pirated copy of Muppet Treasure Island when you game, I don't know if you every deserve to play on PC.

If you do this and you're unlucky then your peripherals alone add 20ms of input latency.

Fuck modern gaming, enjoy your stupid high specs on UE5 slop that looks like shit anyway, enjoy watching degenerate porn on your second monitor while you fry your brain like a kid scrolling through those two video split shorts on youtube and tiktok, get absolutely fucked.

My second monitor is almost always off.
For the rare times that I use it, it's used for gooning, and a game guide.
If I could, I would trade both of my monitors for a single bigger monitor.

I'm not, I can do it just fine but "multitasking" is a myth and just serves to make you more distracted and expend your attention more quickly hence its "overwhelming". Its actually the opposite in that having multiple monitors is like being an autiADHD child with subway surfers, family guy clips, etc playing during any task to stay "focused".

very common since switches were designed to run at 5 volt but modern micro controllers run at 3 or 1.5 volt so to save $0.25 in additional mosfet cost the switch is wired directly to low voltage of micro controller causing insufficient wetting current leading to oxidation observed as "double clicks" or failing to hold a held click
pretty much the only reason to buy an optical mouse since the led and receiver are happy with 3 volts and the switch is just a plastic shutter
>>
>>737677957

If you have to measure in cooking every time, it's the same issue as "20ms." You have no FEELING and no soul. You measure to fulfill some autistic desire to produce a product cooking, not make a meal. You pretend to feel 20ms to make up for a void in your soul that requires you to buy a more expensive mouse and post about it. You are an autistic robot not worthy of the joys of this earth

Yes, multitasking is a myth, which is why my second monitor is connected to a second PC, so that I can commit to a task instead of endlessly being driven to alt+tab on impulse.

you never played a bullshit loweffort borderline afk game like farming in an mmo or runescape before have you? cuz that shit is fucking easy to multitask, I used to fish in WoW for hours while watching an entire 12 episode season of an anime straight daily. I never ran out of raid food or consumables, potions, flasks, feasts, cauldrons, enchants, food buffs, glyphs, nothing cuz I just mass farmed that shit for my entire guild
or if you want to be "productive" then multiple monitors is basically required for daytrading stocks/options unless i guess if you want to be a psycho with a single giant 4k tv on your desk at which point you might as well just get multiple monitors instead
>>
>>737678230
>have sweaty palms.
as all true gamers should you filthy fucking casual
anyway oxidation happens to all electrical switches and its removal is a combination of sufficient wetting current (achieved through meeting the minimum voltage of the switch) blasting it away and physical design scraping it away since micro switches have very low actuation force so they can't scrape oxidation away and if fed with below 5 volts will always develop oxidation given earth-like atmospheric conditions

I used to do this with mice, just buying the absolute cheapest mouse I could find. Better bending cable, withstand thousands of clicks, no problem with the wheel.

yes you always measure, it doesn't mean you use precise measurements though, you can very easily get within a percent or two and its fine
20ms isn't within a percent or two, even for people who have bottom of the barrel reaction speeds its still a 10% difference, for most people 20ms is like reacting 15-20% slower, that is a very big difference

the order of magnitudes you are comparing are not at all similar
>>
>>737679837
>There's nothing inherently poor about the durability of membrane keyboards.
Membrane keyboards are a cost cutting measure introduced during the home PC boom of the 1990's, you probably don't know this because you're too young. Before that most computers had mechanical keyboards. Many of those old old mechanical keyboards are still working today and highly sought after despite being 30+ years old.

My lived experience. My ducky shine is nearing 12 years old and has no signs of visible or functional wear. On your keyboards, the "I" "S" "U" "C" "K" "O" keys are completely worn, whereas mine are clear as day.
>>
>>737679946
They are indeed cheaper to make, but also most keyboards were not IBM Model Ms. Membrane keyboards are still cheap, but what you're often trading is tactility/feel, response times, preferable layouts etc. rather than durability.

>I used to fish in WoW for hours while watching an entire 12 episode season of an anime straight daily.

I have full top setup but I do have a honeycomb mouse, though I got it as a gift from my parents so idk if that counts
>>
>>737677034
A second monitor is just too good to pass on if you play a game that requires wiki usage or a game that needs external tools like elite dangerous where you can check markets/exploration targets and plan the best routes outside of the game itself. Constant alt tabbing gets annoying real fast.
>>
why are honeycomb mice even a thing?

>this rodent is 0.5g lighter it will raise your k/d by 0.001
Pure marketing.
But lightweight wireless mice in general are great, I've fallen for that meme and now I'm a believer.
>>
>>737688697
Onstensibly for weight reduction and less sweaty palms, I will say the Glorious Model O I have is very lightweight, but it isn't like it makes that much of a difference since you get used to the weight of any mouse regardless. Never had sweaty palms so I can't say if it makes a difference there

This but watching anime/youtube on the 2nd monitor and also shitposting on /v/ on the first instead of playing vidya

I have an Omen 34C and I love it, just have HDR turned off because it makes porn look terrible

Im saving for a new TV so I can have giga-vision back, I have my spare TV as my main monitor after my main tv burnt out and its like living in the stone age.
Im living in HELL, anon. HELL!

My main screen is a 31" 4k and it's big enough for my uses while the one I use as a secondary to open a web browser is only a 27" 1080p turned vertically. Works for my use case.

>"mice are prone to breaking and require multiple replacements"

I guess I'm a fucking tranny because I would be pissed if my mouse doesn't get a couple years of use.

Also why honeycomb mice specifically? They aren't purely aesthetic, the punched holes stop your palm from getting sweaty.
>>
>>737689165
My secondary is a 20 something inch but my main was a 60" and it was glorious. I didnt turn it off for like 5 years then the one time I did, half the screen never came back.
Its lame. I have to go get glasses again because I cant see anything.
>>
>>737677034
I've never had to replace a proper gaming mouse. Stop buying the cheapest shit you can find.
>>
>>737677034
pretty much
>bought gaming chair
>actively uncomfortable, this is literally not how a vertebrate is supposed to sit down
>get office chair
>still have the same office chair 7 years later
same for mice, the fancy ones just feel shit in your palm, simple as that

all the people i know who jerk off their $20 peripherals are extreme poverty neets or outright retarded. like yeah of course they're going to break on cooldown. get a mouse with optical switches. also going from using some wired brick to using a 60g wireless gaming mouse is like night and day if you play shooters

the one thing i think "enthusiasts" hype up too much are mechanical keyboards. they're usually made more for typing and not gaming. i think membrane keyboards are unironically better for gaming most of the time. for me personally i use a logitech g950 since it was the lowest profile keyboard i could find (makes a lot of key combos easier to press in gaymes)

I've heard that bolting a car chair to a block of wood works wonders in terms of comfort and utility. No need to worry about an exploding anus and you're helping the local economy by turning junk into treasure.

>honeycomb mouse
Are these really popular? they look like shit.
I'm good with my Logitech G502, I actually use those other buttons, I default one of those extra buttons to the use key in fps games, it's outright superior and now I get why so many older games used rmb for use.

>a single bigger
40-50 inch tvs are practically free and they easily double as monitors. Hell, you can even get 120+ Hz if you fell for the muh tripledigit fps scam.
>>
>>737690445
you don't like 120hz?
Metroid Prime 4 was great with 120hz, I'm looking forwards to Switch 3 because of it.

Just have both. Peripherals aren't even that expensive if you're not retarded except for OLED monitors. Just get whatever mechanical keyboard as long as it has hot swappable switches. If they break you can just replace the individual switches and it ends up being cheaper than membrane ones long term. Compact keyboards are for homosexuals, I agree with that. I guess decent mice are fairly expensive but you can find decent ones on sales from time to time. For headphones you can get 20 buck IEMs that beat any gaming headset slop or you can get decent studio headphones for about 100 bucks or get TOTL used ones and just swap the earpads and headband and never worry about headphones ever again.

My mum's Swedish which is why I had a Swdish flag laying around to use as a makeshift light diffuser after my next door neighbour accidentally broke the original one after I'd left it on top of the toilet seat to dry after washing it out when she went to go take a piss

Pretty sure it is like at max 5 people trying to force the "Dual monitors = trans" meme. Why the hell that become a thing I have no clue but schizos aren't sane.
