>Quit job to play videogames for a living
>No longer enjoying videogames

Holy fuck, I thought this was a myth, this is hell
I want to enjoy them again
I mean I still can but its a lot harder to enjoy them for longer periods of time now
>>
then go back to the wagie cagie

constant dopamine from playing video games is like eating candy and junk food. It tastes great but it doesn't help you in the long run and it just ends up making you feel like shit when you have it all the time.
>>

not a snowballs chance in hell, working a normal job fucking sucks
I still love videogames but they were everything to me when I got home from work
but now that they're my job I feel like theres a huge lack of something in my life now

>>737680042
Yeah I didn't buy it at first but I certainly get it now
This is rough, what I don't get is I could do it nonstop when I was a NEET and I'd never have this problem
But now something's changed and I don't get it
>>
Didn't you learn never to mix business with pleasure, anon?
>>
>>737679781
Never make your hobby a job, you'll end up hating it.
>>
>>737680084
it's because you deluded yourself into thinking it could last forever before, but now you subconsciously know better and you'll most likely end up homeless in the future if you dont start working. that's why you can't enjoy games like you used to
>>
>>737680240
I mean I'll be fine. I love my job to death now, but now when I'm not working it just feels a little hollow. Maybe I just need another friend group or maybe a different hobby
Or maybe I just havent found the right games to play yet recently and that's why stuff feels empty

You feel like your obligated to game instead of having it for a hobby.
Your options are simple
Cultivate hobbies outside of gaming and transition gaming into the work part of your brain fully.
Get a Work From Home job that gives you plenty of downtime and lets you game as a hobby again without associating it with work.
Get a regular job and go back to how things were.

well videogames are my work-from-home job now
I'm way happier in life with what I do, the only downside is videogames don't hit like they used to

I'd never in a million years go back to a normal job though fuck that

i also quit my job around two months ago. terrible work conditions(retail). it was so bad it was starting to affect both my physical and mental health so i quit. i managed to save enough money to buy a new gaming laptop and have enough to cover my expenses for a little over a year so im good. i had close to 230 hrs on steam in the past two weeks but its starting to go down because i realized its not good to be playing games all day. youll get tired of it and will want to do something else. not saying that waging your ass off is any better but you do need an activity other than gaming. gotta find a balance between gaming and life.
>>
>>737680458
Then it sounds like you gotta find other hobbies, preferably ones that take you away from your house to establish a boundary of separation between work and rest.
>>
>>737680506
Yeah I guess so. I suppose I should get back into tabletop or commander with some friends, maybe.
I moved to a new state recently and I don't know anybody, so meeting people should be fun maybe
>>
The only people I know that aren’t miserable with their work are autistic furry porn artists.
>>
Go somewhere new to play videogames like the park or the beach. Freshens the experience
>>
>thing becomes less enjoyable when you do it out of obligation rather than desire
Who could have possibly seen that coming.
>>
>>737680545
That sounds good, go find your LGS and hope that its not full of obnoxious people.
Hope you enjoy Anon.
>>
>>737680580
Well I love working strangely
When working videogames are really fucking fun
its just outside of that in my spare time everything feels way less active and enjoyable
>>
Playing video games as a job is the same as being a athlete You are still required to hit the gym and eat healthy. You're just going to be miserable sitting in a chair all day with nothing to stimulate your body.
>t. office wagie for 8 years, miserable until I got a home gym and stop eating junk and soda.
>>
>>737680695
>home gym
What is the minimum one needs for a "home gym"?
>>
Uncs lost again kek
>>
>>737679781
this is how I imagine every eceleb feels when their relevance is tied to a single game, like imagine being a destiny eceleb or a CoD eceleb right now
>>
>>737681018
Dead By Daylight ones always seemed like they got it the worst.
