>ps5 and switch controllers are drifting>my ps1, ps2, and dreamcast controllers, which are 30 years old, still work perfectly fine
>stick driftanother kike hoax just like covidmy dualsense still works perfectly and I never had chinkflu
The PS5 controller is honestly rubbish. As much as I like the console everything's about it is way too expensive for the build quality. Having the speaker on the controller instead of the TV for things like voice chat makes sense but then it's the worst speaker you'll ever hear and people leave it on open mic. It's got tons of features that you might never use (I've only used any of them in astro bot) and what is the touchpad for? It would have just benefit from a couple more buttons.
I only use a PS5 control because the xbox layout is beyond retarded to me. Oh what's that you want to do (common action)? Just press LB+Y and then RT little bro. It's fucking stupid that most games on PC default to the xbox buttons.
>>737679885I realise it's kind of a matter of luck, but my ps5 controller started drifting after 2 years, my switch (that I bought in 2020) still hasn't started drifting, and my PS4 controller from 2015 still works fine, only the O button doesn't feel super clicky anymore.
>>737679885>PS5 and Switch JoyconsThose are the only controllers I own with drifting issues too. Maybe the Switch2 controllers are better
>>737679885Hall Effect is so old that TMR sticks exists now, you can find both of those on cheap 8bitdo controllers yet Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo have never implemented them almost as if they want you to buy another controller when they drift
>>737679885Still not buying the gabe controller
>>737680620Typical third world bird brain can't handle American excellence.
>>737679981The DS4 of my PS4 pro had drifting, my other three DS4 and my two Dualsense are still working. It's hit or miss with these shits.
my ds4 is working perfectly fine with no drifting. though the only game i've seriously put any time into with it was elven ring like 9000 years ago
>>737679885Dreamcast is actually hall effect. The more you know.As for the rest while it is true modern consoles use cheap shit but if you actually use an old controller, let it even be a 360 one you will instantly feel how less precise those are. There are huge dead zones built in most old games while new games are much more responsive.Fun fact, in Borderlands 3 the dead zone is so tight your controller can drift when left in the neutral position, even when it is perfectly fine in every other game.
>>737679885MULTI STICK DRIFTING
>>737679885Different mechanics, for good or ill. >DreamcastThis had a magnetic setup similar to more modern "hall effect" controller; as I recall its predecessor the Saturn had a similar one. >DualShock and DualShock2 These DID drift and use the same general potentiometer setup all through the PlayStation line (with a few exceptions). They just had lower resolution and larger deadzones compared to modern ones, so it wasn't noticed as much and it took more wear before it was affected; when it was it was just an issue of "the gamepad broke, time to buy another". One exception was the DualShock 3 / PS3 controller -some earlier models were Hall Effect sensors. Why they didn't stick with this is probably a cost thing sadly. >>737680521I hate the consoles overall as locked down pieces of shit, but the DualSense is probably one of the best controllers to date in terms of features; its also the most comfortable of the symmetric layout pads. Its haptics are the most advanced, and the gyro, touchpad, mic, speaker etc.. can be used for some neat stuff in games that actually take the time to support it. >PriceConsidering that Xbox pads are far less complex and basically only $10-15 cheaper at full prices I don't think its that bad. The Switch Pro / Pro 2 are perhaps more overpriced for what differs vs the Xbox and for that matter DualSense. Also if you want build quality and are willing to pay for it the >DualSense Edge is pretty great and you can easily even swap the sticks for TMR / Hall Effect without having to disassemble the whole thing, not to mention other stuff like the caps, back buttons and other "premium stick features". At the moment I don't believe any of my >Xbox Elite S2 >DualSense Edge>Switch Pro >Switch Pro 2 have any sort of drift noticed. The only one that is noteworthy is >Switch JoyCons which admittedly have been used since launch and playing Ring Fit and Fitness Boxing games on emulator
>>737680907imagine the smell of this anon.......
>>737679885Lord GabeN has come to save you. Make sure to thank him.
I had to go and replace the sticks with some TMR ones, they're absolute shit.Actually I also had to replace the battery. When you factor in a few mods the DS5 is not cheap. Not at all
>>737680781American excellence is copying Nintendo face buttons, shuffling them around and adding nonsensical nomenclature to shoulder buttons? Fucking yikes, dude.
>>737681707>$99 for a controller that costs $0.50 more to produce than the dualsenseBe sure to say thank you master after you purchase it like the good little goy you are
>>737679885kneel
>>737679885I've had the worst of luck with Playstation 4 and 5 controllersdrift, sticky or non-responsive buttons
>>737679885I think PlayStation pads rank among the cheapest Chinese shit products on the market. Their quality control is some 90s era madcatz shit wrapped in an expensive looking package. They fail with such regularity I feel it has to be on purpose, sony treats controllers like a light bulb buisiness
>>737684164>save $30 on a controller will last a fraction of the time because it's made just to break and be reboughtlol snoycattle
>>737679981All my DS4 controllers had stick drift(the joystick moves on its own) so I buy modded controllers with TMR sticks now.
use this
>>737679885i've literally never once seen stick drift in my entire lifei'm convinced it's spastics that throw their controllers against the wall like a retard that causes it
>>737679885It's because you need Hall Effect.
>>737687212You simply got luckyI had an xbox controller that I barely touch develop drift on the right stickMost accounts on analog drifting are from people who also own other controllers that don't. What you describe would have to happen on every single fucking controller, not specific ones.
