I don't speak for anyone but myself but I really enjoyed Nier Automata and would call it my game of the year when it came out. The gameplay is fun, combat is nice and smooth and the shooting combined with the hack and slash is good (albeit more of what original Nier offered). The soundtrack is amazing, probably a good chunk of the appeal of the game. The graphics while not amazing even for 2017, are supported by a strong art style and character design. 2B in particular is beautiful and a sexy bomb who needs to squeeze my head between her plump thighs and self destruct, bulging and creaking as she fills with vast amounts of energy before bursting into a massive fireball. The writing is good, people give it stick for being baby's first philosophy lesson but honestly that still puts it above the average videogame plot, and it does make you emotionally invested in the characters.
