Finally beat Nioh 3.
Gameplay aside, even story declined
>Nioh 1, William is clearly a protag and story about him
>Nioh 2, Hide is supporting protag but game never pretends he's anything else
>Nioh 3, literally Code Vein 2 level of bullshit, everyone constantly scream at you how you are super special and change world, but everything is literally about other characters, with protag doing nothing in story.
>But, for you to feel super special, only you can close cruible, and so Himiko always knocked away
Especially weird decision after Wo Long just made story characters to be canonically part of boss killing in cinematics.
Anyway, will be first Nioh game in a long time where I ignored ng+ right after beating game

To be honest, I never particularly cared about the story in Nioh.

Games like these should have easy to ignore story, instead of forcing it down to my throat

I just beat this also. I enjoyed it mostly, but the story was absolutely retarded ??? tier schizo nonsense. It was very disappointing and sloppy. I also severely disliked how so many characters you fight don't die, and just get up and walk off after you dumpster them. Like what?

Now I am progressing NG+ and it's a lot more fun due to the easy access to gear sets and more difficult encounters. I almost didn't start it for the same reasons, but gave it a shot, and it's a superior experience compared to NG and there are lots of things you can do in the overworld like reset crucibles and bases if you want to farm them.

Neither did I till 3 showed up and showed us how bad it could get, lol.

It's okay to be 90iq, but don't assume everyone else has your low standards or requirements.

>I also severely disliked how so many characters you fight don't die
tbf, you can handwave this as Takechiyo knows he is traveling back in time and probably has a fear of creating time paradox with random killing.

>William is clearly a protag and story about him
He basically does and says nothing unless Maria or his wife & best friend are onscreen though? His connection to most of the game's plot starts and ends at "honourable foreigner kills yokai good." Hide has significantly more relevance and involvement in the plot than Wirriam did, I don't get why you guys always try to claim the opposite.
>>
>fighting boss, holding down the block button
>facing boss, locked on
>boss does some sort of sweeping spinning move
>camera follows as it does
>I am still blocking, my finger did not leave l1
>take a chunk of damage, clearly didn't block the attack (it wasn't elemental)
>....
>this happens regularly vs several different types of bosses and situation
>same thing with deflect windows and burst counters, which I never had a problem with in 2 (beat underworld)

Nioh 3 is sloppy. Nioh 2 is extremely tight and feels great to play, 3 just constantly disappoints me with random bullshit. I have consistent 120fps matched to my monitor refresh rate, so it cannot be frame lag.

It's hard to get over it, I want to love the game but it spikes my cortisol way too high when I 'know' I blocked or dodged something, but the game disagrees. I can play Nioh 2 and 'know' I blocked something, and the game agrees. I know how to parry, I understand parry timing, I play all the soulslop and sekiro. I get it....but nioh 3 just disrespects that skillset sometimes for a reason I don't understand.

>go to /r/nioh
>everyone is back to playing Nioh 2

What version of 2 did you play?

Open world while not bad per se, it's really a cancer for replaying game. Only Zelda somehow made it fun to replay in my memory
>>
>>go to /r/nioh
Niohcels always had a redditor stench to them

/v/ games discussions died 2 years ago, nothing wrong with visiting other sites these days.
