I've seen many people criticize games for being mono-colored (brown and gray, piss filter, etc.)
I've also seen many people criticize games for being too colorful (rainbow gay worlds)

I like games being vibrant a lot more personally, muted tones and colours really only work if you're trying to invoke a certain feeling or atmosphere.
