Games where the final boss is an absolute skill check relative to everything else prior?
I cheated and have no regretsI didn't beat the game and i don't careSex with Lady E
>>737684207I played like absolute dogshit and never learned how to charged parry until Eigong, and I still beat her in like an hourIf I can do it, you can do itSex with Heng
>>737684354Charged parry is easy. Problem is just getting the parry timings for the phase transition mastered, since they're the main roadblocks, then from there it's just finding all of the safe windows to squeeze in 1-2 hits and/or a talisman before it's back to more timed parry strings. Phase 3's flashy shit can suck my balls. You did go for the good ending, right?
Blasphemous 2 is relatively smooth sailing and then the final boss shoves his dick in your eye
>>737684924I still need to pick that up. How did it compare to the first game? I liked B1, other than some MUCH NEEDED QOL being added to the game two years after I played it.Better late than never, but damn, I don't know how something basic like map markers eluded them until then
>>737683895
>>737684354>I still beat her in like an hourI don't believe you
>>737684354>Sex with HengYi...
>>737684987mechanically, it's great. in my opinion, it has probably the best combat in the genre, and the best bosses overall, but it severely lacks the charm and the soul of the first game. if you really enjoyed the mysticism of the first game, the sequel is probably going to be a bit lacking. if you were put off by the mechanics first and foremost, you're going to like the second game moreat least that's how i see people's impressions of the games
>>737684354An hour for the bad ending version of her maybe.
>>737685393>it has probably the best combat in the genreDoes that mean they changed up enemy staggers or sped up your attacks? You had a 4-hit combo you could unlock in the first, but you'd never land the fourth hit on most shit due to having to parry or dash away from an incoming hit.
>>737683895it's actually exactly like everything prior because nothing really animates much before the hits land, so it's all pure memorization
Lobotomy CorporationThe game is about managing SCP-style monsters and as the game goes on you manage more and more monsters, which can all compound the things you are expected to manage because they all have to be managed differently. By the end you are juggling a large number of monsters that demand you do specific things. Then you have boss battles which require you to send all your monster-managing dudes to go whittle down monsters that spawn with their magic bullshit, but also dodge them out of the monsters' attacks which are usually one-shots that will completely blindside you and cause you to restart the missions over and over again because you had no idea it would do that. Then you get nearer the end of the game and there's a boss which will randomly release a ton of your SCP monsters from containment if you don't instantaneously deal with them, which can potentially just kill everyone immediately, and also shoots projectiles that shoot out in all directions and travel through walls and kill everyone in one hit, which also has a very large amount of health and multiple phases where they go invulnerable. And then the game decides that wasn't difficult enough and makes you fight multiple bosses in a row, without ever USING THE PAUSE BUTTON IN A MANAGEMENT GAME, then fight the most difficult bosses in the game including that previously talked about one in a row.And it doesn't tell you any of this shit in advance and if you are trying to enjoy the game you will be playing it blind. You are ENCOURAGED TO RESTART THE GAME FROM DAY 1 in order to make the game slightly easier by making different choices in which monsters to pick and grind up character equips more.
>>737686051The only game I've watched rather than played.
>>737686169Percentage of people who actually ended up completing it must be so fucking low. I imagine most people googled how to cheese it with the time machine on top of that too.
>>737686169It's one part getting stuck in traps you'll only know about after it's sprung, and hoping to god RNG is kind to you for some of the boss events and other random bullshit that can happen and tank a run that's out of your control.
>>737684987It's bigger than the first game. More weapons, bigger map, better QOL in generally. Mechanically, it's better. They lost their main pixel artist though, which is why they changed to animated cutscenes and more human-sized bosses. There are still a few gorgeous pixel art screen-fillers but not as many. If you liked the first game then you'll like the second.
>>737686169I'm not shocked, since the last week is fucking evil
>>737684432It was the true ending Eigong. That last phase took me the most time because those aerial slashes force you to learn their timing with no telegraphs, which is retarded since everything else does have some form of telegraphing. I saw people who got tricked by the red attacks, not realizing you can't charged parry in the air, so I guess that could be why I beat her fast enough.>>737685286Each attempt, assuming it dies in phase 3, takes maybe 2 minutes. That's 30 attempts minimum, which is plenty reasonable for such a hard difficulty spike with no runbacks.
>>737683895Not a final boss but it has one optional boss thats like that
all 3 original BG games have extremely difficult final bosses. especially throne of bhaalcan't speak for 3 as i haven't played it
>>737688760>because those aerial slashes force you to learn their timing with no telegraphsI just mashed parry and kept in the air for it all, sometimes burning a talisman if I needed to stall in the air some more, since she usually finishes with trying to plant a talisman on you, or doing the dash w/ the multi-hit attack that happens where she was.I couldn't be arsed to try her harder version in the post-game mode, which bumped her HP and outgoing damage 20% on everything.
>>737689015I didn't even know there was a harder version, does it have any new attacks, or is it just inflated damage?
It took me over eight hours to beat Eigong. My opinion on her fight went from "this is the most bullshit fucking bossfight I've ever come across, what the actual fuck" to "this is the most fun I've ever had fighting a boss, oh my god I love this".
>>737688997Dunno about BG2+Throne of Bhaal being on the same level as the bullshit that is the original Sarevok fight though. That fight REQUIRES you to cheese it. Like, the intended way of completing the fight is literally to reload and reload and abuse the AI, there isn't an option to do anything else.
>>737689169Battle Memories mode is just inflated health/damage on the bosses, to feel more like a boss fight at your end-game loadout.
>>737689178Every time
>>737689183ToB is in my opinion worse but i get you. sarevok was an extreme ball buster
Some fighting games back in the day when Arcade mode was designed to eat your coins. You remember just how much M. Bison cheated with his complete lack of charge time and super psycho crusher, but some other games had it even worse. Some of the Mortal Kombats were just completely bullshit.Would be interested to know just what the most bullshit fighting game end boss was though. There's gotta be a leader of bullshit out there.
>>737683895>Games where it's boring as fuck but I need to stroke my e-peen so I keep playing for 15 hours to get to some hard boss
>>737689515>indian can't into grammarMany such casesSad!
>>737688760I did by panic mashing parry and having no hp and heals left, i could have perfected it like i did phase 1 and 2 but i didn't feel like it
>>737684354I just dashed and jumped over the things you need to charge parry. Took me 3 hours to beat her.Sex with Heng
So did Leer fuck Ji?
>>737689223I'm surprised, at least as far as Steam data goes, that 1 in 5 players even beat her in standard mode. Unfortunately there's no way to know how many players casual-moded the difficulty for the true ending.
>>737689452>There's gotta be a leader of bullshit out there.I figure Mortal Kombat would be top of the chain since it's just outright input reading in anything but the Novice tower. Stuck using cheese strats on anything later on the other towers because fighting regularly doesn't work.
>>737690000I was gonna do that but i forgot and did phase 3 on standard
>>737683895>relative to everything else prior?I never learned unbound parriesI never did unbound parriesEven against Aigongget fucked
>>737691806Is it possible to beat true Eigong without using unbound? I never tested dash i-frames on her screen-wide 4hit combo to see if you can just ignore the reds in it and parry the whites. You can stagger her with the bow, but you only have so much ammo and it's completely random how often she'll use the attack.
>>737692218>you only have so much ammothe default talisman upgrade lets you rejuvinate ammo when using it on enemies, so that is a doable strategy.
>>737692396I forgot about that. Would be interesting to see a blade-damage-only/no-red-parry run given how often you can't even get a triple hit in on her outside of two specific attacks
