Play TaIes

Some are better than others
>>
Shin Megami Tensei is the only jrpg series worth playing. Fuck your casual shit.
>>
Pure sex
>>
I just can't bring myself to finish Symphonia (despite liking the gameplay and the somewhat interesting story) because I can't believe I have to replay this shit like 9 times to see it all

Best Tales girl, sorry I don’t make the rules

>I can't believe I have to replay this shit like 9 times to see it all
You don't.
>>
>>737685839
I have posted this before but I played Symphonia and the one for Super Famicom but I didn't like neither, which one is considered the "best" one?
>>
>>737687101
There are titles that you can only give to one party member other than Lloyd in the run, so yes you do need to play the game several times over to get everything.
>>
>>737685839
Vesperia>Berseria>Xillia>Simphonia>the rest are mid and forgettable
>>
>>737685839
I really like Symphonia. Vesperia is okay too. I liked Xillia and Xillia 2 but I would probably never replay them
>>
>>737687623
Use cheat codes if you really want to see the titles for maxing cooking or super high levels and shit or just don't bother.
>>
>>737685839
If I wanted to watch mediocre anime I'd sub to crunchyroll instead of plying these dogshit games.
>>
>>737687623
Can't believe I'm seemingly the first person to ever tell you this but doing grinding Titles in 60 hour long playthroughs where the other 99% of the runtime is the exact 1:1 same content isn't "seeing it all" as if there was unique relevant content or exclusive sidequests for nine playthroughs. You're not missing anything for not doing what most Symphonia players, even those going for a "100% playthrough", never did.

I love Vesperia.

KEEP MY WIFES NAME OUT YO FUCKIN MOUTH
>>
Graces has a top three spot from gameplay alone. Just ignore the fact that the entire series fucking died right after they adopted a shitty version of the Graces combat system.
>>
>>737685957
I can't make Lloyd choose anyone besides Colette or Zelos. It just doesn't work. He doesn't fit with any other girl and Zelos coming to care for and trust Lloyd is an important part of his growth.
>>
>>737685839
i'm playing arise in japanese for practice
beat the first boss the other day
think i'm following the story okay
>>
>>737685839
>Some are better than others
And all of them are better than B*rseria
>>
>>737692368
The writing takes a nosedive after the snow country's boss.
>>
>>737692698
i mean it hasn't been mind blowing so far anyway
i'll see if i agree when i get there
>>
>>737685839
>want to play the remastered vesperia because now you can play as finn and some pirate girl
>yuri didn't bang judy
fucking FAG.
>>
>>737685872
It’s a DRPG not a JRPG
>>
Vesperia is good but it's not even top 3 in the series. Why do so many people adore it above all others?

>>737687671
Xillia 2 maybe but Xillia 1 had so many shortcomings that it's hard to forgive. The last 25% is so fucking rushed.
>>
>>737693076
Only pure and girly female characters get a romance
>>
>>737685872
This isn't played because you want a very trying tactical fight. It's played because you like the characters and want to do a cool anime combo.
>>
>>737693358
Multitudes of combo videos along with cel-shaded anime graphics/models.
>>
>>737693358
Vesperia has a lot of content which helps too I think
>>
>>737693457

>>
>>737693358
best cel shading graphics and very likable cast.
also classic 4-player coop gameplay
>>
>>737693358
>Vesperia is good but it's not even top 3 in the series. Why do so many people adore it above all others?
Because it's successful at everything other games in the series aren't. There are others with better writing or better combat, but Vesperia does everything pretty well so you aren't likely to get disgusted by any failing.
>>
>>737685839
I did. It wasn't very good.
>>
>>737693358
Anyone that puts the huge piece of shit that is Xillia 2 over 1 shouldn't have any opinion
>>
>>737693358
Can't speak for others but it is the last game I played that I know that is cel-shaded and no mo cap. Xillia is the first game i played that shifted to the new animation style. it's okay and not hating on it but I prefer the older style.
>>
>>737693076
Vesperia is weirdly aromantic for the series. It's no wonder that it's most popular ships are yuri and yaoi when the heteros don't do anything with their chemistry.
>>737693496
The only combos I enjoyed were Judith's because air juggles are fun. The combat felt really badly paced since you don't even get the good combo shit until so far into the game.
>>737693546
It does but so do a lot of others. Not really the make or break it for the best in the series, especially since it also has parts where all the content drags hard if you're not into what's going on.
>>
>>737693597
The cast is very good. That's probably my biggest praise for the game. But it's not my favorite party in the series either. There's a few above them still.
>>737693610
I'd argue not having a standout in any specific category hurts it more than helps it. Berseria has 6/10 combat and 4/10 graphics but I prefer it for having an 11/10 cast.
>>737693849
You're the only person I've ever encountered that thinks Xillia 1 is better than 2.
>>737693893
I feel like none of the Tales games really stand out in animation or graphic style. Character designs are the biggest deal since you spend so much time with cutscenes and skits.
>>
>>737694046
>The combat felt really badly paced since you don't even get the good combo shit until so far into the game.
Everyone who's played a fresh new Vesperia file basically agrees to that.
tfw I just couldn't take it anymore and just controlled Rita to spam Fireball for most of the game
>>
>>737693849
Xillia 2 is great thoughever.
>>
>>737693569
She's a pink. Their kind can't help themselves.
>>
>>737694151
>just controlled Rita to spam Fireball for most of the game
Nta, but I do this in every tales game, so far Rita>Magilou>Elize>Genis>playing a mage in any other game is miserable
>>
>>737694283
It’s been years since I played Xillia 1, can I go straight into 2 or should I replay 1/watch a recap?
I only remember small bits of the plot
>>
>>737694392
A recap would do. It does bounce a lot of plot off of 1's hanging threads but it's never very nuanced about what it's saying.
>>
>>737685839
Tales of Vesperia is unbelievably overrated. The gameplay is genuinely some of the worst in the series for like 60% of the game cause it cockblocks you from literally every single tool until the you're nearly at the end of the game anyway, the characters are bland and generic and Yuri is a shit protagonist who people only like cause they're edgy 14 year olds, the story is shit, the environments are shit. Vesperia is a below average Tales game and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
>>
>>737694554
Are you a raging Abysstard or a raging Symphonia yard?
>>
>>737694631
>t.edgy 14 year old
>>
>>737694554
I wouldn't go that hard on Yuri, he's an alright protag, but i agree with you on the rest.
>>
>>737685839
Arise is the best one and I'm tired of pretending it's not
>>
>>737685839
Can you explain why there needs to be a tales thread every day? Not a single one of these games is good. You make the same threads every day and they all get like 50 posts, it's this, diablo, some other moronic ancient rpgs. It's just every day man.
>>
>>737694117
IMO prefer the puppeteering(the fuck do you call that shit?) over mocap. they're mostly simple and get the message across but mo-cap tends to have a lot of japanese quirks in mannerisms that bleed through the animation of the models that you don't see on the regular. it feels weird and this applies to a lot of japanese games that uses it.

I'm the Vesperia overrated anon from earlier and even I wouldn't drop that stinker of a claim. Environmental design is one of the few things that really stands out about Vesperia.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is the worst thing since my son. I mean, how much more could you possibly fuck up the sequel to Tales of Symphonia?! And while my son eventually hanged himself in the bathroom of a gas station, the unfortunate reality of DoTN that it'll be around… forever. It will never go away. It can never be undone.
If someone who’s under the age of like 20 says his least game in the series is Symphonia because it was “the most generic”, then I suggest you shut this review off right now before I carefully explain how much of a fucking idiot you are. So where do I possibly start?
Nothing in DoTN makes any sense at all. It comes off like a script written by an 8 year old. It’s like Miyajima Takumi finished the script in one draft, like turned it in, and they decided to go with it without anyone saying that it made no sense at all, or was a stupid, incoherent mess.
I guess at this point who’s gonna question Miyajima, or tell her what to do? She controls every aspect of the story. She probably got rid of those people that questioned her creatively a long time ago.
I also think that everyone just assumed that a Symphonia sequel would be an instant hit, regardless of what the plot was. Really… how hard could it be to screw up? It’s like screwing up a sandwich. You take the ingredients, you stuff in the bread.

It does take way too long to get all the combo abilities. You can cancel moves together right from the start and the free run manual cancel is an interesting combo piece to play with. Devil May Cry for example doesn't give you every single move right away, but it's fun to use the ones you do have. Vesperia has that, too.
>>
>>737695216
Why are you sharty posting

ToV (360) propably has the cutest girls
>>
>>737685839
I've tried Symphonia, Eternia, Berseria, and Arise. I wouldn't call them "bad" but I feel like they all stop getting interesting around the half way point. Either a combination of story, gameplay, or both. It feels very weird
>>
>>737696109
What the hell are you talking about, I'm simply pointing out there are often Tales threads that reach bump limit.
