Are you excited for Kitten Space Agency?
>>

Yes
>>
nah, it looks kinda ugly

I have over a thousand hours in KSP, and it's quite a perfect game. All it needs is modernization

But looking at kitten space agency, all I see is complicated UI, overly realistic simulation elements and uncanny valley cats. And worst of all it doesn't run better than KSP or looks as whimsical or fun. It just looks... dark and depressing
>>
>>737687946
it's too early to get excited. In 5 years maybe. I'll stick to KSP for now
>>
>>737687946
I'm interested to see how it plays out but it ill never top KSP. KSP still has an active modding community.
>>
the developers have no intention of ever releasing a finished game. they sell hopes and dreams, not a product because it's what pays their bills.

I want sandbox space games with "realistic" space combat.
>>
>>737687946
They should really go for something more simple and toon looking instead of this weird dreamworks looking model. Kerbals were perfect.
>>
>>737687946
Imagine if a pebble sized asteroid cracked the glass of its helmet and caused the suit to lose pressure and then it starts gasping for air but instead coughs up blood because its lungs ruptured and it starts silently screaming as its eyes pop out of its head.
Haha
>>
>>737688027
pretty much my exact feelings on the game. all a ksp successor (official or spiritual) needs to do is be "ksp but more" - less buggy, with modernised (ie. not ugly; i dont mean UE5 hyperrealistic shit) graphics, and basically just incorporate the most popular mods in terms of base/station building and interstellar travel. thats it. ksp basically hit the nail on the head first try in terms of the right level of realism but ksa seems to be getting way too bogged down going into the weeds on shit no one asked for. i get theyve said they want to start with a solid physics foundation (which makes sense) but at a certain point its trying to fix what aint broke

The cats are too cute and precious for what's happening. The kerbals are goofballs and it's perversely funny when you accidently get them killed. But getting a fucking kitten killed feels bad man.
>>
>>737688006
Please tell me it's actually called the Mewn in the game.
>>
>>737689415
The single deciding factor for whether the game will be shit or good.
>>
It could be good a good successor to KSP especially after the shitshow of KSP 2
>>737688027
>>737689315
you all seem to forget kerbal took years to really get to where it is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp4IIcM66MU
>>
>>737687946
It cannot possibly be as bad as KSP2 so yeah, I hope for something that works.
>>
>>737689616
I started playing in 0.23,and that was more than 13 years ago. I know how it used to be like. The core game didn't change much once the basics were set.

Much like minecraft, the first few important updates (all the beta of minecraft) happened within a year or two, and after that, the game was pretty much unchanged except for bloat and new blocks and shit

They live off donations retard. If the game is complete and dev stops, the donations stops too.
>>
>>737692516
>>737692936
Beside, it's only a free in-dev preview that advertises the game and funds its dev. The complete product will almost certainly be paid.
>>
>>737687946
It will feel wrong to send kittens onto potentially deadly missions. Kerbal were just ugly enough for you to be okay with sending them to death.

Is the original KSP good enough to eventually but on sale or they managed to fuck it up at the end, considering how badly KSP 2 went?
>>
>>737693067
>complete product
not happening
>>
>>737693283
>Is the original KSP good enough
they never fucked the original up at all

with mods it becomes everything that ksp2 was supposed to be
>>
it's crazy that KSP2 is still being sold on steam for the price of a brand new AAA game
>>
>>737693283
First KSP just exists, you can get mods (paid and free) which make it look really good. Though there's still negative reviews regarding some DLCs that might break things.
>>
>>737692531
fucking hell, does it really say that?
i get that a lot of people credit ksp with getting them into aerospace engineering/astrophysics, but surely theyre going to be the ones designing the rockets to take people to mars, rather than the ones flying them. astronauts are still largely test pilot types, no?
>>
>>737693415
>>737693509
Oh, thank goodness. I will get a base game onsale and add mods. Thanks!
>>
>>737693578
there is not much to do in KSP besides LARPing after you completed the tech tree.
>>
>>737693696
I guess figuring out how to get kerbals onto farthest planets will take a while.

>>
>>737693781
lemme save you the trouble
nuclear engines and a lot of SRBs. Xenon if you have a light rocket. the most fun you can have is building a space station but as previously mentioned, not much point to it.
>>
>>737693696
yeah thats why i was looking forward to multiplayer, make your own goals, mine refine and build IN space and colonize whatever you're capable of reaching,
but no you get flop game and cats.
>>
>>737693921
you don't need a network if your mission is manned, retard. watchu wanna do? send science for your already completed tree?
>>
>>737693924
Maybe there are mods that make things more difficult and enable some actual logistical work.
>>
>>737694020
you actually don't even need to go to jool
hell, you don't actually need to even launch a rocket

you might not even need to launch the game

speaking of which, why did you even need to click "post"? None of this was necessary
>>
>>737694104
congratz on going full circle, tard
>>
This is why the game must have colonies and interstellar as part of the core progression. So that there's still a reason to do these things other than for the sake of it.

All of KSP's problem originate it from being a Unity game. If you want KSP, but better, you need a custom engine.

Those photorealistic anthropomorphic abominations are downright repulsive
>>
It should've been tardigrades.
>>
>>737702506

KSP problem comes from mods being better than the actual game.
If KSP2 was just KSP with bundled mods it would be a 10/10 game.

Do people really anti-graphicsfag space simulation games? When I'm calculating trajectories and doing burns I want the most realistic and stunning views of the planet below me. I want it to feel as immersive and awe-inspiring as humanly possible. You people are ridiculous. KSA is exactly what we need in this day and age.

I like pretty graphics but not at the cost of gameplay. I'd rather have an engine that can support hundreds/thousands of parts that looks like crap vs a very pretty game that runs like shit even on modern hardware.
>>
>>737717392
The KSA engine is being designed to do exactly that, while looking like a game made in the 21st century, fucktard. Meanwhile KSP shits itself if you try to build a complex spacecraft or station, and God forbid you have any graphics mods at the same time.
