Fixed camera is a retarded idea
And even more retarded is the fact that it changes ever fucking 2 seconds and the controls invert
>>
cope and cry, retarded child
cope and cry
>>
>>737689754
>and the controls invert
you're using the wrong control scheme, junior
>>
It's not used well in these games.
>>
>>737690431
It absolutely is.
>>
Games were made for asian and white people OP, sorry you can't comprehend these things
>>

no they don't retard

>>737690431

Okay maybe it works differently if you choose the classic or whatever scheme, you got me chuds
But why are all frames so zoomed in and have to change every god damn second?

You can create cool setpieces and guide the player by using a fixed camera

Fixed camera is great.
Can you imagine if there's no fixed camera?
Every game will feels the same with the same camera view.
>>
>>737689754
fixed cam was the result of being confined to 2mb of system RAM, and nothing more
>>
>>737690610
>But why are all frames so zoomed in
because the game was designed for 4:3 and the rerelease has to zoom and crop the image to fit into 16:9.
>>
>Fixed camera is a retarded idea
that's nice, lil zoomzoom. go eat some more Tide pods.

I've just started playing it and it's great, really adds to the ambience / vibe. Wish the cut scenes were less intrusive but that's probably due to hardware limitations and not a full remaster/remake

Yes, fixed camera is superior.
>>
>>737689754
Fixed camera was technically very useful because of pre-rendering, but it also works artistically for horror games in particular, since the distance and disconnect to the player can enhance the unsettling vibe, like constantly being watched and followed by some other entity. Think of often this is used in horror movies, either as a first-person shot from the perspective of a concealed hunter/stalker, or the villain watching through some kind of camera feed.
>>
>>737689754
Fixed camera games are the real cinematic game in the literal sense because you can employ cinematogaphy techniques to the game. It is way better for horror game (when the developer knows how to use it) because you can employ horror game cinematography, aka the only thing that actually makes horror movies scary

>zoomer can play the game OTS
>zoomer sees the og is fixed camera
>boomer ignores the OTS games and keeps on playing his old fixed camera ones
>boomer is happy
>zoomer sees boomer happy
>zoomer's mind cannot comprehend anyone else enjoying other things than what he decides is acceptable and good
>instead of enjoying his OTS the zoomer goes out of his way to bitch, moan, cope, seethe, ruin everything just to make the boomer miserable as he is
This is the most objective tl;dr to each and every single thread made on this board bitching about fixed camera angles and tank controls. Bot or manmade it does not matter, still applies because the bot got its instruction from a zoomer anyway.
>>
>>737694703
Ayo timmy, chill, RE1 is fixed camera only
>>
>>737693485
this, this is why the full 3d dreamcast and ps2 games had them
>>
>>737693650
no wonder these retards are all virgins
>>
>>737689754
>I love going on message boards, and complaining about games I've never played!
For those who don't know, REmake REmaster offers two control schemes
classic style "tank" controls, where the movement is character relative. Up is forward no matter what angle. Or "alternative" controls where the character moves in the direction you point the stick. The thing is, with alternative controls the direction becomes locked as soon as the angle changes requiring you to move the sick at least 20 degrees to change direction, so you don't have to worry about the camera change suddenly pushing you in a different direction.

>>

Stick? I am playing on a computer you manchild
>>
>>737689754
that why you should use classic control when you re getting used you dont have that issue
>>
>>737690409
>you're using the wrong control scheme
why would the developer default their game to the "wrong" control scheme? Why does the wrong one exist in the first place?
>>
>>737695365
easy mode and the difficulty its the guy getting used to controls KEK
>>
>>737695513
cause crapcom sucks at porting besides the resident evil 5 skins hell they didnt change the difficulty selector putting (easy/medium/hard) at the end of each answer
>>
>>737693485
its capcom devs being retards in the 3d transition
>>
>>737695513
because they were trying to appeal to retarded toddlers like OP who experience an aneurism when confronted with basic tank controls
>>
>>737695590
? This doesn't only affect the ported games though? Did the original releases not have the same controls or am I misremembering?
>>
>>737690409
>>737695513
Classic controls are horribly limiting and even worse than the "wrong" controls
>>

I wouldn't want every game to have fixed camera but I respect games that do it well. And I don't think RE necessarily benefits from "normal" cameras.
>>
>>737695883
only californians
real people just shoot the lid off
>>
>>737695701
classic control its that you press up and every camera change your character will always go straight, modern its like few ps2 games that werent designed in a mansion with lot of camera cahnges that your character movement depend of its position in the camera ( wich most sucked with other things more until resident spain 4)
>>
>>737695946
i just like if we could choose camera type like the latest remaster of legacy of kain defiance that was shitty dmc knockoff camera wise in 2004

>>
>>737689754
you should have noticed, if you just hold the stick in the direction you were holding before the camera switch, then the character keeps walking straight.
the problems happen, when you start to try to adjust as soon as the camera switches.

you guys really need to learn how to "listen to" and feel out the game. try things etc. to understand how the systems work. zoomers have on average better mechanical skill, but you don't use your brain and are bad at adapting to anything.

the game is zoomed in, because it's cropped 4:3 to fill out a 16:9 display.
the game aks you if you want to keep the original aspect ratio or have it zoomed in to fit modern screens.
did you not pay ANY attention at all?
>>
>>737689754
Kek. OP is a youngster too stupid to handle a game that doesn't handhold
>>

how is anyone even supposed to navigate that without yellow paint and tape. It's impossible.

The Devs chose to do the first games this way just because of the limitations at that time
Once hardware got better they moved on to third person camera, because also think it's way better

I'm playing this for the first time right now and it's not the camera that bothers me too much it's inventory management with Chris Redfield. Why does this asshole only have 6 item slots? Why is an herb a whole ass item slot? I'm tired of running back and forth and a brisk jogging pace to out items away
