Do people still use mouse buttons? I haven't seen more than 2 recently
>>
>>737690403
Not since MMOs died.
>>
i use this for shooters
more is always better
>>
>>737690403
All the time. Most games still have a radial wheel or quickslot items, usually from 1-9 at least. So you can switch easily by mouse.

They're great for a lot of games even outside of MMOs. Shooters, MOBAs, RPGs, etc.

it's for productivity now instead of gaming. i have:
home, end for browsing (only thing i sometimes bind in games, like to circle camera left/right in BG3)
win+tab
slowdown and speedup youtube streams
screenshot, save instant replay, record/end video record
show/hide performance gui (fps/cpu/gpu etc)

still use my razer naga
thought its starting to act up and double click now and again
gonna hold out as long as I can because I got all the setting perfect and they stopped making them
>>
>>737690403
The only reason you would need a mouse with more then 2 buttons if youre playing an MMO or a game that require alot of input in short time
Since most people play casually, shooters or game that doesnt require alot of input in short time

Wtf I can't believe more mouses haven't done this. That was always a big issue with the 16+ button razers like the one in OP's image
>>
>>737690914
you can use wired as well but I'm not doing that shit
>>
>>737690403
Just in to warn to never get Aerox 9 because its wheel is just notoriously fucked and skips up and down randomly after a month of using it
Buttons are great but fuck that wheel made me want to kill myself before I got a different mouse

lol

Oh shit they make a vertical mouse with a lot of buttons too. Too bad about the fucking honeycomb design.
>>
Are there mice with a lot of buttons that are also light?

I xenon 770, and actually use the buttons, but mainly with Blender.
>>
>>737690403
A mouse only needs 2 buttons and a scroll wheel
>>
Yeah, even bought a JIS layout kb and thinking of buying a macro pad.
Before chatbots I rarely bothered to make scripts, only when super annoyed, but now there's no reason no to hotkey pretty much everything you want since you can slop up an ahk script in less than a minute for it.
>>
>>737690403
Its good for things like a spotting key, or voice emote wheels, or emote wheels stuff like that

I use nearly every button on my G502 for most games, besides the G9 button below the mouse wheel. The three side buttons and the two narrow buttons next to mouse1 are a necessity to me now.
I wish there were an "MMO" variant of the G502 with a dozen side buttons (and the two narrow index finger buttons) because I'd use 9~ of the side buttons on average for virtually every game.
>>
>>737690403
yeah I still use my g600 because it still works for other games than just mmos. the side buttons completely replace the number keys on my keyboard.

Has anyone used deathadder standard? I got a razer set on some random temu promotion

I could never live with less than 2 side buttons again on a mouse. Ideally i'd like 4.

ofcourse I have a numpad
You expect me to pay MORE money for LESS keyboard?
>>

Wireless is dogshit. Enjoy your batteries running out every couple of hours.
>b-but the box says 800 hours!
Yeah, the box also says that your mom wasn't sucking my dick, but look what's happening.
>>
>>737690403
I never really felt any need to use an MMO mouse for actually playing MMOs.
The most popular one with more than a handful of buttons that you'll need to press is Final Fantasy XIV, and it's easy enough to just set up and remember some Shift and Ctrl combinations. Maybe that's just a thing of practice though. Most of the time, you don't even need to use more than two action bars. (Plus, the next expansion in nine months is going to cut this down further)

It just feels more likely that you'll misclick one of them than to actually rely on them.
>>
>>737696765
Consider disabling gay lights.
I charge my mouse every two weeks.
I use it at least 10 hours a day.

I have like 50 different things bound to mine using the side buttons as modifiers. Never found much use for them in games.

>alt+tab, show desktop, enter, escape, alt+F4, cut, copy, paste, delete, undo, redo
>maximize/restore window, minimize window, drag window (without using the title bar)
>scroll wheel speed modifier, zoom in, zoom out
>pause/play, stop, mute, next track, previous track, volume up, volume down
>refresh/reload, next tab, previous tab, duplicate tab, close tab, re-open tab, forward, back
>>
>>737690403
i use the side buttons as a volume rocker
there's also another button on mouse on the corner side of the left click which i've set to as a triple click
>>
>>737696765
you can just charge it with the wire while using it
>>
>>737691454
Is it "Wired" or actually wired? What I'm asking is if wired disabled wireless connectivity and it isn't just a way to charge the battery and it's advertised as "wired" as some mouses I've seen in the market.
>>
>>737697387
G604 is the best mouse of all time, I will never let mine die. Preventative maintenance is so easy and cheap

NTA I have that mouse and I hate it. The software, battery, build quality are decent but the shape is weird (feels a bit like a vertical mouse) and some side buttons are hard to reach. Going from 8 to the front buttons requires constant hand repositioning and the mouse doesn't feel wide enough regardless of which side panel is on. The hump makes up and down fingertip movements impossible. For some reason the mouse feels much hotter and sweatier to use than any other mouses I've tried, despite the cheese grater holes.
Redragon recently released pic related which is the newest version of their M908/M913 mouse and now I'm waiting for this mouse to arrive. I already own M908 so at least I'm sure the shape will be good. Price can be reduced to €36 with coupons and coins
>>
>>737698339
I'm using it wired on my other pc right now, while having it connected via 2.4g on my sleeping main pc, it did not wake the main pc up so i guess it disabled the wireless

>>737699069
funny i went from redragon m901p-ks to this mouse
fuck that redragon, doubleclicked after 2 months
>>
>>737699069
>but the shape is weird (feels a bit like a vertical mouse)
That is precisely why I would be interested in it, but the buttons being hard to reach is obviously a deal breaker. Seems like nobody is interested in making a good vertical mmo mouse, unfortunately.

Yeah it got released about a month ago. Tbh didn't have any issued with getting used to honeycomb pattern on SM809, it's not even noticeable when you grip the mouse. Might be annoying to clean, though

>red dragon
Have they improved? I got a red dragon mouse one time, and it was the shittest, most flimsiest chink shit mouse I ever broughteded.
>>
>>737690403
I usually bind grenades or abilities to the side mouse buttons in shooters, it's especially good for cooking grenades in games that have a grenade hotkey, thanks random anon from 2015 mentioning that in a Dirty Bomb thread, you really improved my gameplay experience
>>
>>737700221
People seem to be happy with their MMO mouses. Mine has lasted 6 years and still going strong. You either gamble with chink QC or deal with mainstream brand's planned obsolescence
>>
>>737694442
its like triple the price for a fresh one
>>
>>737690403
While MMOs are dead the current mice market became turbojewish by only offering 4 buttons (2 main ones and 2 smaller side buttons) plus a wheel and still charging a premium for it.
>>
>>737700080
I do mostly grip but less so on tall mice, I'll still give it a try anyways. cheers
>>
I'm still using this. I genuinely can't enjoy normal mice after getting used to mmo mice. It's way too convenient
>>
>>737690403

Side buttons in mice are complete trash. Extremely easy to press accidentally, difficult to press on purpose. I mapped mine to browser back/forward and the number of times I have accidentally backed out of a page compared to the number of times I've used them on purpose is 1000:1

Mousewheel, however, is ultra useful.

Yes, especially those who play more complex games with larger command groups like MMOs. Grid buttons are...okay. I'm not a huge fan of that design because A) you lack a thumbrest spot without disabling a button or threatening to trigger it every time you grab to lift the mouse B) everything is contingent on how well they are shaped or identifiable via touch and your thumb being the primary way to make use of them. There are now better designs though like pic related
>Swiftpoint Z2
Which is probably the best multibutton enthusiast mouse I've ever used. this is showing all the accessories it comes with Its not just extra buttons but
>Where they are placed, not all on the thumb side
>gyroscopic "tilt" inputs. With standard use you can use left and right tit, along with the side thumb and ring finger press-down rests, for inputs which are great for things like leaning left and right among other features. See that big disc thing? You can also magnetically attach it on the bottom and turn it from a mouse into a stationary gyro joystick that also does forward/backward as well as left/right, which is useful for any game that you want mouse buttons but could benefit from joystick controls like some flight sims.
>5 of the main buttons are pressure sensitive analog, L and R click, the fingertip buttons that are (depending on the kind of caps you're using_)) by default in line with the scroll wheel, and the scroll wheel itself. So 50% pressure can have a different input than 100% etc
>There's a little OLED screen on the side that can be use for config among other stuff
>the knuckle buttons (closest to mouse body) have both press down (often with 1st joint of your fingers without moving them from the L/R click) and also a trigger activation separately, where you pull it for a separate button
>Linux support (in beta)

They're going to release the successor, the Z3, which is wireless and upgraded, https://www.swiftpoint.com/products/swiftpoint-z3-ea
