I remember people had a massive hate boner for this game, though i mostly saw Reset Era hated it because the protagonist was a white MALE. So now i finished Dead Space games and i'm playing Callisto and holy shit, it's not bad at all?Yes combat is a little bit wonky and peformance is not good but it has a better story and setting than the marvel action packed pew pew shoot shoot die die Dead Space 2 and 3 were.At least this doesn't have a horrible hollywood bimbofied roar male rivalry story like Dead Space 3.So why was it hated again? Seems like a barely above average game which shouldn't have gotten the hate it got, specially when it's a better Dead Space game with a lot of dead space mechanics that are better than DS 2 and 3.
>>737691081Overuse of "squeeze through the space" loading screens.Brain dead combat system where enemies politely attack you one at a time.Took its story VERY seriously, which is not a good idea when its so thin and dumb. (Seriously this had a fucking audio drama prequel with Michael Ironside and Gwendolyne Christie for worldbuilding and they did NOTHING with it.)Utter lack of enemy variety. Oh look, ANOTHER two headed boss enemy. It LOOKED very pretty and the performances were genuinely good by the cast, but that's it. It was rightfully shat on.
Dead Space remake has worse performance and changed everyone's sexuality and race and nobody complained.
>>737691081The game wasn't liked because it was a bloated, overhyped mess with mediocre gameplay. And I say this as someone who was actually excited for it. I thought we had another scifi horror classic coming down the pipe, and I got a mediocre TPS with 3 enemy types, and an utterly boring story that will never continue because the devs accepted that it failed. This game is a prime example that pretty graphics and "cinematic storytelling" are not auto 10/10s, even for the biggest shill reviewers. You need a compelling world and compelling characters. You need a satisfying climax, not "muh secret society in space doing Umbrella corporation stuff."Dead Space's eldritch/Lovecraft elements made it feel like a larger than life threat. When you get the answers of what's happening from Callisto it's just like, "oh, I guess that's it. Bad people doing bad experiments." Riveting. Oh, what about the badass robots? Fuck, they're so cool, oh wait, shoot them three times in the head and they're dead.Every aspect of this game was focused on LOOKING good, not BEING good.
Pajeet...people disliked the game because it was just trash. Hours of playing shitty Punch-Out and whacking zombies with a stick in generic sci-fi corridors from start to finish. Zero soul and zero passion, zero creativity. Just generic console combat with generic zombies. More proof that "FROM LE CREATORS OF X" is always a sign of a mediocre game. Now before you deny being a shitskin: only indians, mexicans and other inbred turd worlders are obsessed with whiteness.
Honestly, it's kinda sad that both Callisto and the Dead Space remake failed, DS fans could've had their own renaissance. Now the closest thing to it is Pragmata, and that's specifically not a horror game at all.Now
>>737691904>is obsessed with whiteness throughout its entire incel postyou're genitally mutilated and brown, mart sharter
Because it was a super linear beat em up with nearly zero gunplay. It forgot that stuff that made Dead Space 1 fun.
>>737691370>>737691749agreed. it also ran like ass on release.
>>737691749>Dead Space's eldritch/Lovecraft elements made it feel like a larger than life threat.Oh yes nothing makes me feel like there's a larger threat than when an entire story revolves around some botox full of make up bimbo making two men fight each other and every cutscene is Isaac going "Nahh bitch loves me" "OH HELL NAW BITCH LOVES ME! I'LL KILL YOU!".
>Garbage gameplay>Nonsensical story that was rewritten a week before release>Characters range from literal who to annoying asshole>story "twist" it was super proud of, despite everyone who heard the premise of the game instantly figured out
