the alien AI could be a lot better too and more fun. It was literally just crawl all the time and don't make noise to win Nightmare mode, and then just rng luck after that

The alien being immortal was a great design choice, that they need to keep. But at the same time I wonder about Aliens style shmup gameplay,

Aliens: Dark Descent managed to balance shooting and stealth pretty well, wouldn't necessarily work for this style of game but the whole "there's 1 wandering monster you have to avoid"-style horror game might profit from some variety, but at that point I feel like it's a completely different game
