>indie ''horror'' game
>it's aktshually a metaphor on depression
Why are indie devs such creatively bankrupt faggots? is there no other theme out there? one story?

I could name 10 but i don't wanna give them any publicity but generally if the dev has a depressed anime girl avatar in his socials and he is asian, it's guaranteed to be one of them

Played the excellent cat in the box, horror puzzle game with limited saves and a really good vibe to it, the story has all kinds of twists and endings, think to myself hmmm this dev knows what he is doing, play his follow up horror game it's a puzzle game with a little girl in an alice in the wonderland city and the ending is just a metaphor about a 30 yo girl who is depressed or sad and some bullshit ''it was all a dream''

Of the indies that people give even a tenth of a shit about, maybe one in a hundred is a metaphor for depression. You cannot differentiate a game having themes you can detect at all from it being a generic artsy-fartsy nothing game, just like everyone else who makes this retarded argument.
>>
Every significant piece of media is a metaphor for something
>>

But MY favorite game has no metaphorical layers at all, no it couldn't possibly be that I was too dumb to see them the first time I played and now am running on confirmation bias!
>>

The Old Man and the Sea is just about a guy going fishing
Taxi Driver is just a slice of life
The Stanley Parable is just about a guy having a wacky day at work
Nothing means nothing

Other way around, the pretentius muh depreshon are usually the ones that get non-organically pushed by tiwtter trannies, anything that goes beyond that is snubbed to the point you have to dig really hard to find the hidden gems since now you have to research the devs, gouge the community and check artwork before you even give it a shot

Try again cuck.

I don't have to do any work to find massively popular indies that aren't metaphors for depression. Is Minecraft a metaphor for depression? Ultrakill? Terraria? Stardew Valley? Are you going to argue that these aren't really indie or aren't really popular?

Nothing not depressing about that game, the story is a samurai going down to hell you dishonest poser

>durrr all indie horror games are metaphors for depression!!!
>post games that aren't
>durrrrrrr i'm so dumb durrrrrr

That's actually not THAT common in indie horror. It's indie fantasy adventure games that tend to go that route (i.e. Deltarune). FNaF, Poppy, Spooky's, etc. are much more likely to just go "Spade is spade" with their monsters.
