>invest millions of dollers into a walking tank that can be killed by a schmuck with stinger what's the fucking point?
>purposely designed weakspot>still tanks multiple stingers>kills the motherfucker desiged to kill it while hald deadRex strong.
It's not a walking tank, it's walking intercontinental artillery. Everything that isn't the railgun is secondary and only to be used to defend itself if it gets caught in the field. The armor is weak to the most basic anti-tank ordnance, literally any tank with a few shells for handling enemy tanks could blow it apart. The entire Metal Gear lineage is meant to be mobile nuke launch platforms. Any Metal Gear that doesn't do that is a meme.
Why didn't anyone tell Kojimbo stingers aren't anti-tank missiles?
I love Gekkos. As bad of an idea as a Metal Gear is, the Gekko are so much worse.>Proper name is "IRVING".>Obvious weakspot muscle legs.>Need to piss lactic acid as a result of their organic legs.>Create a mooing sound like as cow as form of psychological warfare.>Can carry an explosive charge and act like suiciders, and they probably cost a shitton to make.>Dumb as shit AI.
>>737699346Doesn't this thing exist only so the army can use nukes without breaking laws?
>>737699346At least that one takes something stronger than grenades and c4It was only destroyed because the cockpit was openSnake was dead had it not been for Gray Fox destroying the radomeRAY has no excuse
>>737701452Unironically love these things, but I have never once been able to take anything in this franchise seriously, so that helps. Also the mooing is INTEGRAL. Seriously love em, wish there was more wacky shit like it, might actually play a game instead of just Revengeance.
>>737702585The RAYs fought by Raiden are nerfed, mass produced garbage designed for swarm defense of Arsenal Gear and destroying knock-off REXs from third world nations. The original anti-REX RAY that Ocelot steals at the start of MGS2 only loses because REX had features it was never designed to counter.
metal gear just makes me cringe nowadays>imagine mythologizing the american military that committed war crimes in japan
>>737701452it was designed by an already malfunctioning AI so it will have weird quirks
>>737700827>It's not a walking tankThey say it is
>>737701452>probably cost a shitton to make.>Dumb as shit AI.The War Economy is just that. Global economy dedicated to eternal warfare. These things aren't meant to win wars, only kill enough people to justify buying more of them when they blow up.
>>737703350They also say the name "Metal Gear" is because it fits a niche between tanks and infantry by walking but neither tanks nor soldiers are used to launch nuclear weapons.
>>737699346It's not a frontline unit, it's like a nuclear submarine, but on land.
>>737699346The point isn't to have a tank it's to have a mobile nuclear weapons launch platform that can launch from uneven terrain. The missiles can't be detected while in the air and even if you somehow found the origin point good luck bombing a whole ass mounting to get the thing
>>737699346>Only millionsAnon....
>>737702989this post reeks of curry
>>737701452take into account that normie soldiers are fighting these things, shooting the legs might seem like a good idea but you have only a bit of time before they stomp yo ass or shoot you with their machine guns. They probably have better accuracy than standardsoldiers.
>>737700827>mobile nuke launch platformsSo kind of like nuclear submarines, only totally retarded?
>>737702989You don't give a shit about Japan, performative faggot.
>>737710430>excuse shitting AmericanShouldn't you be in Iran right now?
>>737699346About as impractical as most bioweapons in RE. (120 million per Tyrant)
>>737710576Nope, I'm lounging in a comfy air-conditioned room, untouchable and uncaring about far-away bombed out shitholes.
>>737701828Basically.International treaties and disarmament agreements used the definition of "missles" which is a payload being propulsed like an ICBM, but since the rail gun essentially 'throws' the warhead and there's not a secondary propulsion, it's not a missle as specified in the treaties. So you can build as many of them as you want and the treaties that force countries not to have excess missiles can't do shit.
>>737699346You'd have a hard time locking a stinger onto a tank, and the warhead wouldn't do anything unless you got a one in a billion hit. It's not really designed for armor. Proper tool for that job would be a SMAW/Javelin. Even RPG's these days are a meme against modern tanks. No, I'm not a /k/ person, I just have A LOT of time behind a Stinger.
>>737699346It's a reimagined nuclear submarine only for hiding on land rather than under the ocean.
>>737699478>weakspotI.. I..its not a weak spot.
>>737700827>The entire Metal Gear lineage is meant to be mobile nuke launch platformsFunny, Met some IR phd student and explained him that mgs taught my then 8 yr old ass plenty about international relations.>what does a bipedal tank that shoots invisible nukes has to do with IR?He still wonders to this day
