If you dont like current 3d fighters youre just fucked. You have almost no options besides tekken 8, doa6lr, vf5 revo, and soul calibur 6 Aside from that all you have is t7 and doa5lr on steamBut If you dont like current 2d fighting games you can easily get matches on fightcade in sf2ce, st, 3s, alpha 2, alpha 3, vsav, hftf, mvc2, cvs2, motw, and a bunch of kof games You can also play ggacr rev2 bbcf on steam, uni2 if you count that as an old game its basically an update to a ps3/ps4 era gameBut its so weird back in the day though soul calibur, tekken, doa, and vf were more popular than any of those 2d games it wasnt even close. Yet despite that, and despite vf and calibur being on fightcade as well, theyre all super dead
After the more focused, more deliberate and back to basics Tekken 8 update, I'd say 3D chads are eating great!
3D fighters are better because I can win. I can't win at all in street fighter
>>737703073Usf4, Sfvce, mvc3, and mvci also have enough players to get matches iircNot an endorsement of those games just saying they are options>>737703289Sf isnt harder than tekken necessarily. Youre probably just playing with shitters in tekken.
I want games where everybody is a tranny! Make it for me, bitches.
>>737706867just play blazblue then nigga
>>737703073>Current 3D fighters are bad. You only have Tekken, DoA, VF, and Soul Calibur to play.>Past 3D fighters were good. You had Tekken, DoA, VG, and Soul Calibur to play.I'll admit, I am a bit confused about your basic premise.Yes, you do have a lot more 2D fighters available to play. A lot of these were available in the past as well, it's just that it wasn't as easy to get access and play them all. It's a lot easier now, since you can just pick them up off Steam or some other storefront. I'm not sure how being able to play 20 different fighting games with dead multiplayer is considered a positive, but I guess that there are more options now than back on the SNES or PS1.
>>737708434Do you actually play fighting games? This is a 1v1 genre, i named a couple dozen 2d games you can get into a match in by typing games a couple times and waiting a couple minutes It doesnt matter that theyre dwarfed by current shit because those player pools are enough to get matchesThe 3d fighters literally have single digit player counts, there are only 4 ips any one wants to play. Theyre all current or last genIts so, so, so much worse if you want *options*, im not trying to say modern games are bad (although they generally are)I just want to know *why*? Why doesnt the 3d community care about old games? Why dont they play them online? Why is their subgenre so much smaller? Yes fighting games as a whole have shrunk, but if 3d was bigger than 2d before, why has 3d suffered *more*?
>>737709217Nta but whats really the difference? Getting matches in anything retro is a struggle compared to sf6 or t8, and everything else is too niche. The only other real option is to play something else and wait for sf7 or t9
MY DEAD GAME ISNT AS DEAD AS YOUR GAME Nigga, i hate to tell you this but the most popular fighting games player pool is so small lol that if an fps were that small itd die instantly gone like concord. Sf6 is the biggest at a measly 30k that only sounds like a lot until you remember there are 8 billion people, dude gtav sold 210 million copies. You can get some spic to fight you but youre really just mashing buttons, its not meaningful in anyway whatsoeverYou arent competing against anyone, even in the biggest fighter if you climb to the top, youre still only a big fish in a small pond. Thats all. Move on bro this genre is fucking dead 2d and 3d alike. Literally if you wamt pvp right now you should pick up magic or pokemon or something relevant
