If you don't take the game too seriously and you can get past things like intermissions and comparing the amount of tracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe then it's a solid download worth your time. Just try it out and see how you like it with the singleplayer content for a while and if you're not having fun ditch it until the DLC next year.
