I hope the next Mario game is an Odyssey styled level maker for user created content. I could go through thousands of levels designed like this game.

I would too but it's not likely to happen without a far more robust editor and engine.
Mario Maker is mostly feasible because it's based on individual parts and blocks. 3D would mean some sort of terrain maker and way of dynamically making lights and areas that would require so much more than the 2D counterpart.
